Yes. I noticed…

No, I really haven’t jumped-on nor delved into the power preyed headlines 
of the many women who have been offended by an O’Reilly, Moore or Weinstein.

I have not.
Though I empathize with all of the tears and snot.

I really do.
I relate with the hashtag #MeToo.

In many instances I spoke up and things just got muddy.
Friendship acts masked the paths of predators prowling for a sexual buddy.

Not sure why so many are power hungry and feel the need to heighten their stance
by cornering folk, metaphorically grabbing ’em by the throat
and putting their hands in the victims pants.

Not on one occasion but on many.
Morals in tow? There can’t be any.

Those with ill-intent who have crossed my path and I was aware – it did not end well.
I’ve remained a lady until this day, oui. Their reward is a mental hell.

I won’t harp on it.
My pen will be too sharp on it.

Overlooking small souls that insist on living too large —
is appropriate in being my current charge.

More women have been affected than care to mention on a whim
because doing so means other folk will know they too were “a victim.”

Who wants to be “a victim” when such a small pistol posed no whip?
I have found folks who are power hungry to be a lonely and useless trick.

Not worth my pen or my spit. So I “forget you forgot you.”
My heart goes out to my sisters and brothers who ever thought about you.

My heart goes out to everyone that has allowed the actions of a predator to watermark their life.
Power-hungry is the fabric of this country. I’d rather make art alone than roll in trife.

Abuses happen everyday. Confront them ASAP, heal and move forward.
