Its KEY

An ill will at Goodwill

Goodwill stores.jpgMonday afternoon I went to Goodwill to find an end Table or a coffee table for a realtor client’s home staging project in Arizona. I walked into the Goodwill store and 2 minutes later I found what I was looking for, a rather large chocolate vinyl ottoman that opens with air hydraulics and had a deep compartment for storage. Get this! It was only $19.99! That’ s my kind of deal. There was a white man about 54 – 57 years old about 5’10” – 5’11”, dark hair & brows, no facial hair, 187 – 193 lbs, and wearing teal blue shirt who was walking rather closely behind me as I looked over the ottoman before I decided to purchase it. Curious as to which ticket color represented the 1/2-OFF sale, I said to a man who was within earshot, “Excuse me. Do you work here?” He said no – then I inquired of him if he knew the sale ticket color. He said ‘no again, but that the sales lady who helped him could tell me.’ He turned in her direction but she was gone. I actually saw her vanish into the rear stockroom doors. I thanked the man and went after the store clerk for assistance. She re-emerged from the stockroom and marked the ottoman as sold and told me to pay at the register and to drive my car to the rear of the store and pick it up. I proceeded.

Once in the rear of the store, it starts to pour down rain. A frail female and a strapping male exit the building carrying my Goodwill treasure. While they were loading it into the SUV that I was driving a white Dodge RAM pulled up behind me.

December31-2018_Goodwill-Stalker.jpgAs soon as the employees put the piece into the SUV the white truck just drove off. The white male driver donated nothing nor did he pick up a purchase. I thought it kind of weird that he waited for them to do the work, which took time – and once they were free to help him, he drove off.  I’m sure it was all caught on the shopping centers surveillance system. I thanked the workers and begin to drive back to my clients home, about 20 minutes away.

5 minutes from my destination a white Dodge Ram gets directly behind me in traffic and makes every turn that I make — with no blinker. I pull into the gated community of my client’s and begin a slow drive through the neighborhood with the white truck community estates gate.jpgfollowing me. I made a quick left w/no blinker and they kept straight. I waited before turning onto the street of the home that I was delivering the piece to. When I made a right onto the street the white Dodge Ram was at the end of the street at the T of the road waiting for me. I pressed the garages door opener before approaching the house and zipped the SUV into my client’s garage.  I was on the phone with my client as I entered the gated community and the two of us watched the white truck sit outside of his home at the stop sign at the end of the street.

I begged my client to not go outside because he had no intentions of calling the cops. After about 15 minutes or so the white truck drove off — very slowly.

What was this about? Why would that man latch onto and follow me – not only through the store but out of the store and onward? My client took pictures of the white truck that followed me to his home and is actively on the lookout for future guests that intend to “surprise.”

I spotted An Ill Will at Goodwill on December 31st.
A white man with covert plans and perhaps an ill-fated thirst.

I don’t know what made me stick out, I was only in Goodwill for 10 minutes – top!
The man was already in the store when I arrived; to stop following me – he would not.

I didn’t catch on to things being odd until I was ready to leave the cut
and went to the rear of Goodwill to get my purchase – suddenly a white truck pulls up.

When the Goodwill employees put the purchase into my ride, the white truck peeled off.
I exited the store in a different direction and still wasn’t “stalker” tipped off.

It wasn’t until I had driven 15 minutes away from the store and miles in a northern direction
that I noticed I had a white Dodge Ram on my tail with clear uninvited intentions.

I continued to use my blinkers until the driver started to tailgate closer.
The driver followed me into a gated community; a neighborly trespasser/poser.

My home-staging realtor client could not believe the moment, but it was easy for me to believe.
I am Black in America and “to always be on the lookout” is a life-long key.

I’m passing this story on to you, and will keep you in the loop should more unfold.
I’m Qui
and I spotted An Ill Will at Goodwill though covered by the blood I still brought home the goal.

Watch your back in 2019 and pray much over your soul.
To live another day is more valuable than gold.
