when I ordered my own.
She’s been observing the Don from youth to grown.
What familial reads hath she literally sewn?
Yes, I confess, I have back-ordered my own.

I know that I’m not sly — but I’ve received several books over the COVID19 quarantine,
including Eddie Glaude Jr’s BEGIN AGAIN and W.E. Du Bois’ DARKWATER scenes.

I’ve got my arms full, indeed. I do love to feed my mind.
Today is Friday another “We’re alive” day. Let’s record it a good find.

There won’t be any club dancing tonight, COVID run’s the scene.
There won’t be any house parties either; groups are not a thing.

This is surely different from everything normal that we know.
The admin said “children should go back to school,” but parent’s are like “No.”

How is that a good idea in the era of COVID19?
Hospitals are full and bursting at the seams.

There is no way that anyone could convince me to risk my children’s lives
behind a dude who was never good in school; who on Pennsylvania Ave resides.

Nope.
No thanks; they’d forgo.

God help us. Are the reliant being lead by the blind?
I keep my head in a book; I do enjoy my mind.

Reading is fundamental and paints reality kind.
Especially when reality is wrapped in COVID one nine.

Do not be in a societal bind — fight back by reading a different talk.
Learn something positive & nourishing –  then let it effect your walk.

Gift your mind a massage and invoke within yourself renewed thought.
