Good morning dear neighbor. What on earth are you doing?
You say ‘A storm is brewing and that she’s filed for suing?’

You mean Ms. Stormy Daniels? You say that she’s suing whom?
God bless those on ‘that wagon.’ The right wheel looks doomed.

Though I pray to God that it is not,
lest the agenda of the wheel is completely shot.

The Oscars ran last weekend, but I didn’t look.
I was about my academic studies; my head in a book.

Though, I have enjoyed the Oscar media highlights
of stars supporting DACA and supporting Women’s Rights.

It was nice but what does it really mean?
The Oscars was a collective stitch at our divided seam.

It’s a good look – The Oscars, but is America still looking?
Or are they working overtime trying to sift through what’s cooking?

‘Crazy about a man with a FRESH stance…

Good morning good people and those otherwise.
Life is at hand, and therein is surprise.

I felt super loved this morning upon opening my eyes.
I knew that feeling would yield unlimited once I gazed upon the skies.

In short, today I’m feeling alright
in fact I’m a bit giddy and a tad bit high.

I understand the difference between the weekend and an absolute conclusion.
I understand the White House is still under scrutiny with this “Russian collusion…”

Did something fishy go on that caused the commander-in-chief
to win the 2016 election and clutch the presidential seat?

If not, in evidential form —
then why the diversion of bigger alarms?

I won’t go down that rabbit hole, God knows that it’s rough
and I think the administrations fall will come in the lies to a “cover up.”

Step your game up

Cover up for  what? I don’t know. That’s where most are in the dark.
So on this Monday, promise me a fun day:
A Fresh Start and Do IT with Heart.

There are bigger fish to fry in either direction if you want to fry them.
Keep in mind TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE and seizing the moment for good is ‘gem.’

So what’s on your days agenda? Will you meet up with and chill out with a friend?
Or will you buckle down until the ‘weekends clown’ and grind up this weeks begin?

I’ll probably do the latter.
I’m just 7 days in from Texas — still fatter.

Every time I visit that state it goes down.
I always return to Arizona with an additional 3-5 pounds.

This week will find me with a good heart

May I please leave a BFT?

In Communication, Networking, News, Self Improvement on April 20, 2016 at 6:18 am

bad-wait-staff

Friday afternoon (2pm), my guy & I dined at LoLo’s in Scottsdale
and just like thier venue in Gilbert, the wait service was HELL.

However, the collard greens were swell and I was well fed.
Yes! I always order the catfish, double greens and cornbread.

It’s one of their SOUL FOOD PLATTERS and I absolutely like it very much.
The cook is great but not the staff-of-wait. Hard to leave a TIP of BIG LOVE. 😔

I’m a BFT! A Big FAT Tipper. I love to show off.
I’ve been known to leave double of what the meal cost.

But when service is good I can not refuse.
I want to shower them with appreciation – “a paper woo.”

And I do, but Friday afternoon did not fall in suit.
The last four times I’ve been to LoLo’s the service was boo-boo.

Ooo-ooo twice in Gilbert & twice in Scottsdale.
Mrs. Whites Golden Rule is what it is – a consistent spell.

Mrs. White is LoLo’s grandmother and her establishment is in downtown Phoenix.
LoLo’s has two restaurants that I’ve tried to haunt – their fam is originally from the DFW mix.

I’m from the DFW, Dallas-Fort Worth, (TX) metroplex.
So finding LoLo in Phoenix was a pleasure and I had to connect

I love picking up the check – I love having my water glass refilled.
LoLo’s serves great food but the wait service is a HUGE lack of thrill.

Our waitress was horrible. I don’t know what else to say.
I’m not sure this was an experience I wanted to Yelp away.

So I came here to say it in my own rounded space – to thee:
Somebody please tell LoLo that ol ‘girl Qui is a BFT. Please!!

The wait staff has to eat & God has fashioned me to love to tip.

Sad about Friday’s $3 thanks, I took the other $17 and dipped. 😉

Awesome Christmas

In Griot, Networking, Self Improvement on December 27, 2015 at 5:13 am

youre-awesome
Most establishments closed for Christmas where I live.
The employers were obviously feeling ‘the give’
and gave most of their employees the Christmas day off.
Now that’s corporate consideration – if properly taught.

I really can’t recall a recent Christmas of the past
where giving most folk the day off was ‘the going fad.’

I hope this year was more than a fad and more of an aced test.
Yes! Spending Christmas Day at home with your fam – will always be legacy best.

The family may get on your nerves, but you don’t have to take it.
Unlike working on Christmas, being unappreciated and having to fake it.

This Christmas was an Awesome Christmas my Texas fam came out to find
that the weather in Arizona is A-OK and boasted of clear skies and sunshine.

Ahhh. I do love this state of mine, but dare I act in remiss
about my love for the Lone Star state. Ol’ Texas – yes. I do miss.

However, today I call Chandler home. Today, (to me) is a gift.
Tri-15 has done its thing, in yielding an Awesome Christmas.

My end of the year wish is that all are well and charting to do better next year.
Just know I’ll always be here and lo, for your good strides I’ll always be happy & cheer!

Today is the first day of the last week of this year – whatever will you do with it?

16-Hour Drive takes 16 Months

Gotta love a LEO on script…

After moving to Arizona by way of a 20-foot UHAUL 16-months ago,
I finally went back home to Texas to love on my familial folks.

I intended to visit for a maximum of 7-days
but ended up enjoying a 14-day stay.

Better than good, it was great – to lone star perch,
especially for 2 Sundays in a row at the ROL church.

I’m black – my gospel roots include Shirley Ceasar and Aretha Franklin.
It had been too long since I’d seen the saints praise the lord in holyghost dancin’.

I surrounded myself in good vibes and love the entire time I was there,
then Spirit Airlines delivered me back to AZ in expeditious loving care.

And I must say, it feels good to have the southwest weather back in my hair.
There’s no place like home – and Chandler is fair.

Home sweet home, I’ve returned to my HOA habitat,

A southern she, who’s quite excited to be back.

OZ The Great and Powerful

OzTheGreatandPowerful_WitchI saw it in 3D and it was very visually entertaining, though the script itself seemed a bit plateaued at times. I think I was most surprised to see the cast of various well known television actors heading up the film and successfully carrying through to the end. Sam Raimi left us prime for the beginnings of The Wizard of Oz; the place Dorothy would later stumble upon in a whirl winded feverish dream.

On a scale from 1-10, I’d give it a 7. Only because, for the amount of time that we sat in the theater, I had way too much time for idle thought. I thought about things like: what I was going to do after the movie, whether or not I’d put too much white cheddar salt on the popcorn and from time to time, I even had fleeting thoughts of making script notes on scenes that could’ve been written more clever.

All in all, it was an enjoyable outing. But then again, I was in the company of some pretty outstanding folk when I saw it, so if I had to rate the outing, I’d give it a solid 10.

Check out a few of the IMBD member reviews,
sometimes it’s good to critic peruse.

It’s good to sit in a theater anytime
and relive the magic of childhood sunshine.

There’s no place like home, it’s the soil that connects us.
I endearingly saw this film, with my kinfolk in Texas.

And so I’ve been taking it easy
the holidays were sunny, warm and breezy

Thanksgiving was great’full  and Christmas was fun.
While some states gave snow – Arizona blazed sun.
Mmmm yum!

Oral Sum!

And so I’ve been taking it easy – the last 12 months deserve to be cheered,
for yielding wisdom to the Wilson children. I’m looking fwd to the 2013th year.

God has shown up & showed out during the last 365 days.
Leaving me beholden, free and feeling golden – to sing His unbelievable praise.

Indeed! Indeed – Let the roof be raised!
The pastures were plenty. We prosperity grazed.

All the year long we were blessed with good health;
the prosperity of life – far supersedes wealth.

So we’ve all been rich – some gave or lacked giving thanks.
Because the wealth I reference – doesn’t show up in the bank.

Well, think of it this way – money or not, if you’ve got your life: YOU SURELY WIN.
What’s the use of gaining the most dough to spend, if you die young (or alone) -in the end?

So I’ve been taken it easy. Kicking back and enjoying life by the miles.
I’ve been hugging, texting and kissing on my kids more – to invoke smiles.

Thanking God for the memories past, and certainly up for making some of new!
I’m Qui
Glad to be making this moment with thee. Tell me, What have you been up to?

The desert is a lot cooler…

In Communication, Griot, Networking, News, Self Improvement on June 25, 2012 at 11:59 am

Prayer Shade TreeWhen you’re standing under a shade tree.
In my case that shade tree would be PRAYER.

Do you do it?
Are you into it?

I’m living in Arizona, but I’m from the southern T-X.
I’m a spiritual being & praying is what I do best.

I moved from the 3rd Coast to the desert 7 months ago
and have found myself visiting the Dr. for a myriad of whoas.

There’s sinus and asthma and girl-parts to boot.
Im also trying to find a dentist to fix my broken tooth.
Oooo!

There’s homemaking and filmmaking and a kid that cheerleads –
going to a 90210 school filled with Beamers, Mercedes & weed.

Money rules the day, but that doesn’t make it right.
My brain is pulled multi directional – I sleep hard at night.

I’ve always been a praying girl – though I’m even more on the ball.
I’m out here in the desert with no spiritual family at all.

So I started to the feel the heat with no shade tree to retreat.
Then God showed favor upon me and led me to FCC.

FCC is a Christian Center with plenty of prayerful shade.
the F at the beginning of CC immovably stands for “FAITH”.

Alas The desert is a lot cooler – now that a prayer corner has been found.
It’s not a mirage, it’s rooted in God yielding BIG SHADE all around.

ROL Christian Ministries is my beloved shade tree in TX.
Distance is no issue when good PRAYER still connect us.

I believe in the power with all of my might.
ROL fluidly stands for the “RIVER OF LIFE”.

So I’m a praying girl, and it sure helps me out throughout the day,
I’m Qui
Posted up under a shade tree – always happy and ready to pray.

How’s your life? How’s your day?
Are you living in the shade?

News Peruse

In Communication, Griot, Networking, News, Politics on December 28, 2011 at 9:43 am

Yes it’s been a while – but the news kept on going
Politics are still being made: GOP Caucus sewing.

It’s not looking good for the elephants home team:
Ron Paul leads the polls, by a hair and a seam.

But the seam is not tight and could unravel at anytime –
Which would surely bode well for Mitt Romney to shine.

Newt G. wants back in – and Rick Perry’s going to sue
If Virginia doesn’t add his name to the ballet spew.

He didn’t meet the criteria – he didn’t get enough signatures.
But he did bring his lawyer in tall hat and boot spurs.
Ahh the nerves of the privileged… Had you ever heard?

Korea is all up in the news because Kim Jong Il has passed away.
They’re broadcasting grieving (tho it looks deceiving) – is this propaganda’s face?

Are the Korean people up against the wall in sorrow?
Will it be chalked up to an ‘ensemble display’ tomorrow?

I really don’t know.
But the broadcast views are one heck of a show.

And so, the US Warns Iran on Straits of Hormuz.
I had to do a little research to understand what all goes through…

Goods are being shipped through the straits of that port.
And if IRAN wants to be defiant, the US NAVY‘s a sport.
I don’t think this is a the battle that Iran wants to court.

President Obama and family are out in the H-I.
I’m so proud of the union between he and his wife.

It brings new light to the darkness of American domestic blacks.
Please believe my familial ease is so comparable to that.

The daddy hunts the food and the mommy cooks it up.
The kids are cared for and the politics are rough.
Yep! That’s us.

There’s not too much in the news past Christmas shopping and returns.
There’s not much in the news passed GOP politics and character burns.

There’s a little bit going on in Arizona with Sheriff Arpaio:
He’s being called out by the latino devout to just resign – YO!

SYRIA is doing something crazy. They’re under observation today
Opposition reports 39 lives killed across the country since Tuesday.
Whatchu say?
This is not the place you’d want to visit today.

The Young & The Restless is back on track – I am truly glad to see
that we’ve gotten Jeanne Cooper back as Mrs. Katherine C.
It wasn’t complete without the feisty she.

This is also the 100th Anniversary of the Titanics erection rank.
We also know of it’s fate – how the legendary monstrosity sank.
God bless those that stayed on the bank…

All news ain’t good news, I’m just reporting what’s on the wire,

How was the Christmas Holiday for you? Did you get a lot of love?
Did you get a coat, a scarf, a hat or new gloves?

The Arizona weather requires none of the (materials) above.
So I gave and I received excessive amounts of love;
via kisses, extended blisses, rich wisdom and hugs.

I didn’t make a Christmas list – everything I wanted was a need.
I copped a house and a car — yielding me a few more keys.
Yeeeee!

I had my two kids by my side, (the eldest brought home a friend).
The dining score was 4:1 — as in women to men. lol!
