Your “I” Contribution

Birthed of the Earth you have been nourished and loved
you’ve heard of connective-tales of how you were sent from above.

Good morning dear Father – Good morning beloved Daddy.
I’m bright eyed and bushy tailed; I’m so glad that you had me!

Good morning male child, who is mono in this world,
Today it’s you and your family – tomorrow it’s you and your girl.

For those who are “in their tomorrow or are actively procreating,
this day was made for your male awesome’ness. ‘Tis no debating.

You are rigid, you are solid, you are true.
Folks say I look like my dad and my mind goes straight to you.

Thoughts like, “He is rather good looking – isn’t he?” and “Gosh he’s so cute.”
Then I look in the mirror and thank God for good fruit. I am your reflective suit.

Dad’s way of showing love…

We are all very similar, just different version of,
so when that little one acts up, like you used to — give them more love.

They are part of you; 50% is what you put in.
They are not disrespectful varmin; they are your kin.

Fruit is good; your fruit especially.
Mason them not in a jar like sacred jelly.

What grows in woman’s belly is a contribution to life.
Behold the man who seeds her; making the two of them “thrice”.

If you have a jewel of a father in your sight or midst,
I pray thee rise, with wide eyes, and make him breakfast.

Are you an “I” contribution? Have you made an “I” contribution of your own?
Either way, celebrate today – you’re beloved whether child or grown.

Hug dad more!

Males are  born with the weight of strength on their shoulders; per the structure of societal nature.
And though many may take your shoulders for granted – not your Dad, because he made ya.’

Are you a dad? If you are – then you know what I’m talking about.
You are “all of that” to your children; believe that —  with no doubt.

We consider you to be strong, much like Superman.
We often think “all will be well” if Daddy holds our hand.

You are amazing in every scene of our lives when you are not away at work.
You’re so amazing that we all need a day to celebrate your necessary worth.

This morning is beautiful, starting with its early morning dew.
Good morning to every “I” Contribution alive – I am just like you.

Thank God for our parents; our fathers DNA came through.
My “I” Contribution to the internet rests in this view.

zoe-kravitz_and_dad

Your daughter will always remember the first man she ever loved. XO.

I am a Daddy’s girl, too;
a birther of poetic hues and intellectual dues.

Man: I love you sincerely, like only a mother would.
I compose griot/poetry/sonnets to chronicle your good.

I think it’s okay for an “I” Contribution to parallel flesh.
I compose Qui Creative Content to keeps the lobe wet. check-mark

Don’t ever be dry.
This is my Contribution of “I.”

For the withal to nourish, I yield thanks my Father’s way,
I’m Qui
Wishing every Dad in history a HAPPY FATHERS DAY.

Please put POP LYNN in your ear.
He’s Common’s father and he’s no longer here,
though his words on wax will remain historical wise and dear:

Allow me to clarify, so that there be no confusion,
our beloved Common is Pop Lynn’s “I Contribution.”

Oshea’s Tight Fade at the BARBERSHOP

In Comedy, Communication, Griot, Movies, Music, Networking, News, Self Improvement on April 18, 2016 at 2:34 am

Saturday was opening night for Ice Cubes BARBERSHOP.
I pre-purchased tickets online – early and attendance was hot!

Our show was to start at 6:45, I arrived at 6.
There was no seat for: Qui, party of 3 – in the mix.

So I changed my ticket time to 7:30 and found my seat early, by 7pm.
It was Qui’s party of 3 and a packed house of fans before the lights could dim.

I’m in Phoenix where black films don’t arrive on a whim, so I was glad that we all turned out
to see what Oshea’s Tight Fade at the BARBERSHOP was all about.

We loved ❤ and laughed outloud.
The audience was a 75/25 crowd.

75% of viewers were black and heavily family oriented too.
Behind me, (2nd to last row) was reserved for ‘every one’s offspring crew.’

Teens sat in the rear – a place that used to be reserved for ‘adult clout’
I thought they’d be noisy but their parents threatened to ‘bust their mouths.’

I snickered but I didn’t laugh out loud.
I remember when I was a part of the ‘young adult’ crowd.

Anyhow, back to the BARBERSHOP – I liked the direction of course
that Ice Cube took us on. #WisdomEvolved was on sport.

We’ve all seen BARBERSHOP before, this is Oshea’s 3rd tight time in the chair.
I loved the information dropped, the ideas sparked; relations made with care.

It wasn’t a “funny show” nor a show of “no substance.”
You’ll be disappointed if you’re looking for “entertainment about nothing.”

Topics were running and though there was some brief gang gunning
the point in the end was “we’ve got to control” black violence hunting.

The BARBERSHOP is a place of honesty with very little sugar and honey.
And though the film was a good time to relate to – it was still very funny.

It was good. The theater was quiet.
No one objected the truth and there were no riots.

The crowd was largely black with a few whites – each person an Oshea fan.
We laughed and gasped in unity. We took our cuts from the BARBERSHOP’s hand.

Charlie_TelphyEve did a good job and Common showed up – again.
Charlie Telphy from Black-ish was there too. You know that’s my friend.

Nikki Minaj was in the film, and played a pretty important role.
She was the beautician who’s lonely and wishing — she was ’bout to sell her soul.

No, not to the devil, though her character could have used a shahman.
Nik was trying to come between the character union of Eve and Common.

It was cheap, it was real and it happens all of the time.
Common’s troubles at home was an inroad to roam and Nikki had a lonely behind.

nikki-eve-common-barbershop-beef

Eve was looking to put Nik’s characters eye on shine when she caught ‘them’ [hubby + coworker] in a compromising position.
To make a long story short, Nikki wanted a feeling to court– but Common wasn’t up for grant within.’

Dirt dishin?‘  I sure am, but like I said the script was strong.
It was less about ‘a blaseh time’ and more about our current song.

Our current communal and social situation song; Topics were HOT!
I’m Qui
Rubbing my hands all over Osheas Tight Fade at the BARBERSHOP.

Have you seen it? Go on out and see it for yourself.
Oshea is trying to make a difference – in addition to getting that wealth!

I love it!

NEWS PERUSE – Glued To The Tube

In Communication, Griot, Movies, Music, Self Improvement, TV Shows on February 20, 2015 at 9:37 am

Cute Guys glued to the tube

I know your television has been on – what have you been watching?
I keep the DVR full, I’m always show clocking.

I’m into #HTGAWM and la bella Analise. You may have heard of her?
She’s that chocolate chic, whose knowledge is thick on HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER.

how to get away with murder FLIRTABC is out of control, they’re demanding my attention without cessation.
I know I am not alone based on the viewer alert tones I receive from FB nation.

If you are watching this show, then you know that we’re down to the wire,
the season finale is soon to come, yet, so many irons are still in the fire.

The creation and writing fulfills my desire to get more from “my comfy-couch time”.
Shondra Rhimes is growing a “David E. Kelley vine” and yields a great deal of my sunshine.

I love it, still my DVR has many slots available – increasing my capacity for “handle,”
so dare I miss an episode of Olivia Pope and them folk on ABC’s SCANDAL?

scanal FLIRTI shall not. The writing is hot and I do dig it very much.
I’ve got a thing for Hulk ‘ – because he’s got that “down-for-Liv” love.

Ride or die. Hulk said he’s a rider now, and that he is no longer “the killer.”
Still, the way he chooses to incapacitate one – belongs in a psycho thriller.

He’s the real deal’a, yo – and I can respect that.
NEW 411: I’ve got eyes for Mary Jane’s new cat.

BEING MARY JANE can’t be easy,
but a ride on her latest boy toy ‘sho makes it look breezy.

You can B.E.T. me every Tuesday from 8-9, because I will be in the cut.
The writers of #BMJ have got-it-going-on in scribbling out “grown folks stuff.”

Being Mary Jane w Brandon

Unfortunately, Mary Jane and Brandon don’t talk much…

I tend to like it rough and they don’t sugar coat too much.
I love that they encompass a lot of insight: the good, the bad, the love…

I’d love to give Mara Brock a big ol’ )))HUG(((!! I appreciate her
for contributing to facilitating our cheesy sitcom past – into a blur.

empire FLIRTThen there’s that awesome hustle and flow of business and lyrical fire —
that exists within the hip hop frames of Lucious and Cookies EMPIRE!

The writing on this show calls out and really speaks to me;
birthed from the same hands as The Butler – it’s the handy work of Lee.

Lee Daniels is the creator of this show and he did not at all miss
when he ‘took it to the head’ and casted Henson and Howard in the mix.

The other actors in the cast roster, are largely faces I do not know,
and that’s part of the hook that keeps me glued to this action-packed show.

The music is pretty good too. The score is composed by sir Timbaland.
He produced Missy Elliott and the sill beloved Alliyah. Remember them?

Blackish-PosterThen there’s the creator of that show BLACK’ISH – he’s got his hands full pulling this duty.
He’s taken-on introducing blacks to the world, via Anthony Anderson and Tracie Ellis’ booty.

Kenya Barris has once again proven that when it comes to show producing – he can do it.
I learned about this show via Exec. Prod. Larry — from The Daily Show with Stewart.

Speaking of Jon Stewart — he’ll be ending his show’s broadcast this year.
The man who divvied us the 411 via laughter-to-tears.

It’s been real funny, indeed. May his exit cause no lumps in the throat;
let us move on and laugh well with those folk on FRESH OFF THE BOAT.

My brief research on the shows creator left me feeling diversely strong –
the creator crafted this from a life of his own: the creator’s name is Eddie Huang.

FOTBI’m a passenger watching #FOTB and I must say based on the noted behaviors,
I have duly been missing out on laughing with my Asian neighbors.

My direct neighbors are of Asian decent and from 3-years passed to this day,
We are cool, with no friction to invoke fool — everyday we just smile and wave.

Digging Eddie Huang’s mind, makes me want to interact with them more.
This is a direct cause and effect from televisions diversity score.

I love it – I love it! Therefore, I remain intently in tune,
I’m Qui
Rending a channeled view in this NEWS PERUSE – happily Glued To The Tube.
