The interest in EXTANT

Please tell me that you met Ethan? He’s Molly and John Woods AI son. Moreover that, have you seen the new series EXTANT that CBS premiered Wednesday, July 9th? Well, you can take my word for it, they are on some 6TH DAY stuff here; they are on some GRAVITY parallel (in character career) stuff here — and I like it.

This television series plays out a like a movie and Halle is perfect for the part. She plays Molly an astronaut who after returning from a 1-year solo mission in space is told by her doctor that she is pregnant. Apparently prior to the last mission Molly was suffering from infertility, thus encouraging the demand for the AI son her genius scientist husband co-created and programmed. This show has all of the ingredients of a good SCIFI show and I’m so glad it is born, there’s so much mystique in the storyline. I’m watching it on DVR as I type. You have no idea how glad I am to have this show in the line up. Are you watching? CBS is looking like more than a YOUNG and The RESTLESS type-of-situation right now. They can have my days and my nights if they keep pumping out stuff like this, at least until I figure out how Molly got pregnant on that solo mission?

Are you watching?
Extant - MOLLY

What about ETHAN, you ask? Good question. I’ve got all kinds of questions about his programming. Near the end of the show, he started tripping. What was with all the “NO’s” he was giving Molly, all because he dropped his ice cream cone and wanted a new one? Never mind the fact that Molly offered him hers.  What was with Ethan running off into the forest? And why did he feel the need to stop at the dead bird altar to tell Molly, “I found it this way“? Was that a “programmed response”, and if so, to what? Surely his program is not prompted to respond, “I found it this way,” after taking random and brisk runs. What sense would that make? Well, I’ve got the DVR set for next Wednesday because I’ve got way too many questions.

AI is progressing along well, therefore, I’d like not to think
that much like dinosaurs, humans are on the chop block of ‘extinct.’

However, in its early show stages, I think the writers may be leading us there,
shock tv may be dead – but human extinction is new reason to prep with care.

AI will not replace us. We are the programmers of the heart.
How could we let this happen if there was ever any chance, from the start?

EXTANT is just getting started. The first broadcast aired this week,

Kudos to the shows creators; the concept is reel sweet,
and alas our Hump Day heaps will be blessed with more network treats.

Watch EXTANT on CBS, Wednesday nights 9/8

Smooth NICK DIETZ

In Communication, Networking, News, Science, TV Shows on February 15, 2012 at 8:38 am

And I’m not just talking about his smooth bald head, but have you seen Nick at work? He’s some kind of attention holder. Have you caught a CBS HEALTH POP video yet? They’re so full of medical insight and Nick is the host telling the tale. The information is serious and Nick is a hoot.

What a great way to be informed.
Old baldy has a lot of charm:

His web presence yells: DIRT! but no foul or harm.
His web presence could be comparable to a PSA alarm.

Nick is no rookie – and markets himself best.
Nick is a business man who’s renting his charms to CBS.

Yes! He’s got a pretty cool thing going.

The TALK

In Communication, Griot, Self Improvement, TV Shows on December 28, 2010 at 6:50 pm

They're Talking to ME

I was bound to watch it – it’s just what the doctor ordered (along with Mother Natures low temperatures) and it is fast becoming one of my favorite talk shows – along side of Tyra Banks and The View. Are you watching it? It comes on CBS @ 2pm/1pm CST. The Talk is hosted by: Julie Chen, Sarah Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson-Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Marissa was the former host of “Dance Your Ass Off”. Remember her? With the big hair and the big smile? Well on The Talk she’s working the audience aisle. She’s also toned down ‘the BIG HAIRSPRAY do’, added a blonde highlight or two and wha-lah! She’s back in business & looking good.

Though I’ve not caught an episode (yet) of Marissa sitting at the round table or perched on the couch alongside the other ladies. I’ve only been watching a week or two, because when it comes to adopting “new shows” I’m slow to move. I’m just picky. But the last couple of “Talks” I’ve tuned in to have been right on the money. Their current topics are dead on in vibe. I can honestly say I appreciate each woman on the panel and dig her individual vibe…what she brings to the table.

It’s a beautiful fresh bouquet of beauty, laughter, and relative life experiences. It’s a great afternoon pick me up. Tomorrow I’m sure to turn in because todays preview of Wednesdays show showed clips of Niecy Nash crying on the couch. Oh Lawd! Not Niecy. That’s my girl. I miss her on “CLEAN HOUSE“. Tempest Bledsoe is the shows new host and sticking true to how I do — I’m slow to move. I admit I have not tuned in yet to catch her in action. All the same, I KNOW I’m tuning in to The Talk on December 29th – I have got to see what the flower with the flower in hair has to say. Unnnn! (the noise Niecy is known to grunt). I wouldn’t miss it for a thing.

I’m sure I’ll hit the comment box with the details tomorrow.
Was Niecy crying out of happiness, or some sort of sorrow?

I don’t have a clue, so I won’t fictionally squawk.

Instead I’ll update ‘my online conversate’ post Wednesdays broadcast of THE TALK.

Whispering Ghosts withold No Secrets

In TV Shows on April 7, 2010 at 12:07 am

The Ghost Whisperer & Jack Bauer

Yep! I’m a fan of “The Ghost Whisperer” starring Jennifer Love Hewitt as Melinda Gordon. Recent reports cite that she and her former co-star/boyfriend Jamie Kennedy have split up. The 30 year old actress from Waco, TX is once again single and it’s not entirely a bad look for her. Considering Jennifers recent quotes about “being cheated on alot”, I’d say perhaps the recent split could be a blessing indisguise.

The dead are talking…and she is listening. Do you watch the show? Have you ever watched an episode? I suppose it’s for SYFY types like myself who believe in the whole “life after death” thing. Me? I’m not psychic, but I am quite sensitive. My 5 physical senses work pretty good, but my sixth senses are what really guides me alot of the time. I think I could easily classify myself as being “intuitively STRONG”. How about you? Have you ever seen a ghost? How about an Angel? Have you ever spoken to either? Perhaps to answer favorably to either of the latter questions would classify you as “a loon” to your peers — maybe “slightly off”, therefore you banish the thought that your intution could be anything other than “a hunch” or “a coincidence”. Either way — I always give first credit to GOD for all of my intuitive interventions. I don’t believe in coincidences, and I always listen to my gut. Are you listening?

The Ghost Whisperer series is well into it’s 5th season and I don’t see any reason to stop it anytime soon. I’ve mentioned before that “the afterlife” must be a pretty hot topic to many because show’s like this one – just won’t go away. CBS knows a money maker when they see one, and well…. 104 episodes aired (and counting) would definitely classify as “a success” by any shows standards. Right? I didn’t even know Jen was from TX until today — what a refreshing credit to the Lone Star State. Jennifer has an awesome career and stars in an awesome show. I must say I liked it alot better when Aisha Tyler was on it, but I think she traded her ghostly gig for more freedom. Since then she’s gone on to do several shows including her current animation role on FX’s “ARCHER“.

I’ve been a fan of Aisha Tyler for years, especially during her short stint on FOX’s 24. She was honing the helms of CTU until it was discovered that Aisha’s character [Marianne Taylor] was a double agent & well….the writers of the show had to “put her down”. 24 is so unpredictable. That’s why we love it. The roster is chock full of dead characters…just like The Ghost Whisperer. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) knocks ’em off and Melinda Gordon listens to them afterwards. Perhaps these two could “hook up”. lol! What do you think?

The State of The Union Address

It was better than an Oprah’s “Favorite Things to Give Away” Show. There was a burst of applause with every other word the President spoke, (or so it seemed), on the other hand he was “giving the people what they wanted to hear”. How do you shut up a whiney people? You can either say, “You get a car! You get a car! and You get a car! (like Oprah does), or you can recognize and address the burdens of the middle class union and state processes and procedures that you have put in place to relieve them of their economical woes, among other things. …and that’s pretty much what President Obama did last night in his 1st State of The Union Address. Check it out::

CBS conducted a poll after the ‘applause laden’ address that proved 83% of Americans who tuned in approve of the proposals the President made.

A Few of the Highlights:
 He said jobs would be “the number one focus in 2010”
 He reiterated the need for health care reform
 44% of speech viewers polled were Democrats & 21% were Republicans.

Not bad at all. I’m stoked. In fact I’m standing & clapping @ the positive percentages right now. Hey – it feels like I’m on an Oprah Show or in the House of Representatives chamber at the United States Capitol. 🙂 What did you think about the address?
