Success Planning

“Success is to be measured not so much by the position
that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.”

Booker T Washington

There’s a fine line between success and failure. On one hand you have to have some serious faith and guts to step out of the box of comfort and do your own thing – win, lose or fail, this is apart of the success process. On the other hand you have – the fail of wisdom and rationality, the fail of caution and perfect timing should you step out on your own under-educated to the traps and pitfalls that are sure to meet you on your journey. So where are you on the line?

I was reading FORBES magazine yesterday and came upon an article titled: “12 Things All Successful People Do“, and think it’s the perfect insert to help you steady your successful course. The piece starts out by saying,

This is due to the fact that successful individuals aren’t just born — there’s a lot more that goes into the equation. Through my experience, I’ve found those who are highly successful have a lot more in common than we may think.

On the hunt for success? Here are some habits to take note of:

1. Boldly fail.
2. Set goals.
3. It’s not always about luck.
4. Carefully track your progress.
5. Don’t wait to act.
6. Connect the dots.
7. Harness your confidence.
8. Commit.
9. Be alert.
10. Persevere.
11. Communicate like a pro.
12. Display humility.

It’s an easy list. Right? I know what you must be saying, “Well thanks Qui, for expounding on each bullet point!” To that, I’d like to say, “You’re welcomed,” then I’d like to promptly share this link:

The link will explain it all, in far greater detail, so enjoy!

While you’re researching your course, I’d like to put this in your ear,
Success is for you. There’s nothing to fear.

My brother is an athletic Coach, and he’s always one to say,
You can not hit the ball – if you don’t step-up to the plate.”

You control your destiny and your fate. Go after it in full.
Start today. Get it out of the way; “Time is non-refundable.”

Coach Joe G said that too! Coach Joe G is my little brother.
We are linked to success by our choices and not our father and mother.

Blood is thicker than water, but knowledge rules the day.
If you are a go-getter in your field, adjust the 12 Things on your plate.

There’s a fine line between success and failure, as stated by Booker T. Washintgon,

31 – 22 HUT! HUT!

In Sports on September 6, 2010 at 1:08 am

Actually it was the WILDCATS who hailed 31 to the BRUINS 22 in game day points during the KSU Family Reunion weekend.

Coach Joe G’s passion
was evident from my shaded seat in Section 4 Row 44 Seat 16 near the 40 yard line and the home crowds energy matched the helicopter swing of his white rallying towel. Yes! Coach Joe Gordon is a very passionate individual whose been like so all of his life. I remember my first KSU season opener game day back in the late 90’s when Joe Gordon [#1] was exhausting his passion by executing corner backing skills on the purple and whilte field rather than coaching. All the same the positive energy was overwhelming then and was even more so energetic this past weekend. At half time I drove a few blocks away to scout a location for a latter project and even there, the KSU fierce cheering was deafening.

Congratulations to The WILDCATS and thier victory over UCLA at the KSU 2010 Family Reunion. It was BOSS! Real BOSS!

31-22 Hut! Hut!

a vibrant supporter of that KSU LOVE.
Keep it up.

Mid-Week Check Point

In Griot, Music, News, Sports on May 19, 2010 at 8:44 pm

Gosh this week is just flying by,
Good production (on a daily) has got me high.

I’m taking it easy on the writes but heavy on the films.
I’ve been keeping “you” in mind during my reflections of reel.

I’m filming in the DFW, but have the West Coast all in my lens’ view.
I even have a few – repping their camera due – bearing East coast roots.

I’m networking hard and meeting new people everyday;
I’m enjoying the journey at hand & all of the talent being thrown my way.

Hm…What else do I have to say? Well, “world news” is still being made–
But I’ve been uninterested during these BP oil drilling & spilling days.

Slick hearings are going on & wars are still in progress;
Marine life is going down without a BP oil solution vest.

Music from local hip hop producers have been dominating my cd rotational play
So let me give a real quick hit of Ag-Towns “Perry Jackson aka PJ“.

He’s not a philosopher like Common or KRS-One
But if you’re in “the party mood” – PJ amps up the fun.

I’ve also been doing social media businessJoe G was recently in town,
and if you know the KSU Coach like we do – he brings good business around. 🙂

He spoke at a golfing event for the KSU Alumni & duly hyped up the score
regarding the Chicago Bears 5th Round Draft Pick – The Wildcat: Joshua Moore.

The rest of my week calls for editing work and taking up any opportunities ‘to shoot’,
