Ricky Harris was the Big TAA-DOW!

In Griot, Music, News, Video on December 28, 2016 at 7:22 am

Good morning family, good morning friends:
The other day The Dogg Pound lost a very dear kin.

While morning surfing Tom Joyner, Claudia Jordan, Porsha Stewart and the likes
I came up on news of a fallen soldier of dimensional mics.

Ricky Harris was a comedian, an actor, a voice over nut and a preachers son.
His comedy was slick, he made me laugh til’ I was sick – he was about that fun.

He went on and crossed over the other day
and a broken hearted Snoop Dogg had this to say:

LIFE IS SHORT. I say it all of the time.
You hear it in conversation – you hear it in rhyme…

I don’t know if Taa-Dow * was sick, but 54 is not a senior age
to many of the 80-somethings near my hood – over 60+ is all the rage!

I do love LIFE. I say it as much as I can
and I will miss Ricky Harris – Gosh darnit I was a fan.

And so today is still Hump Day and early in its birth.
I wake up taking nothing for granted – embracing LOVE and her girth.

Love isn’t always a svelte feeling, like when your mom popped you in the head–
for sassing off, cussing through-a-cough or that ill-compassionate thing you said.

That is LOVE in its firmer form and sometimes it is absolutely necessary
to ensure that you’re on course with your journey; acquire tools you must carry.

Some would call this “the girth” of LOVE, but you know the seasoning is in the fat.
So next time you’re rebuked out of love, flash a smile and be THANKFUL for that.

A beautiful day is dawning @ 7am in my hood,
I’m Qui
Feeling like “Oui-Oui!” Because I’m alive and God is good. 😀

ciao-for-now-ricky-harris

Ain’t nothing wrong with celebrating, embracing and bellowing a laugh.
Trust if Ricky Harris were alive today – he sure would have.

*Taa-Dow was another one of Ricky Harris’ characters name in audio skits via Snoop Dogg CD’s.

Laughing at Your Moma

In Communication, Networking, Self Improvement on January 18, 2012 at 1:09 pm

I didn’t name the title of the video [“Shit Black Moms Say“], but I promise you those are my real life actions (and responses). Trey Moe is a young comedian on the rise. You’ve got to check out his YOUTUBE page. Laughter is good for the soul and your abdominal muscles.

Laugh at your Moma today:

I am both tickled and embarassed – mostly because
I constantly tell my kids “those things” – out of love.

I am a fan of laughter if the content is fresh and funny,
I’m Qui
and we ain’t stopping if you ain’t got Mc Donald’s money. (-:
