super-hero-womenAnd so all of the weekend long
I remained strong & in my dome.

I watched a little TV & went out a short bit.
I ate so caloric little – I thought I’d have a fit.

Yeah I’m on a health kick but dare I say
I couldn’t even eat my lettuce because of TMJ.

I do say — but that has gone away
and your girl Qui is a skinnier she on this health kick sway.

I’m happy, I’m healthy and out looking for MORE good
So I perused for bright spots via the Internet hood.

And I’m glad that I did – peep what i’ve found –
There’s some nourishing GOOD going on in the Flagstaff town:

There’s so much life to live – someone didn’t wake up today
So as hard as you remember to work, please don’t forget your play.

But when it comes to politics – they ain’t playing & it ain’t funny.
Each candidate is on the hustle for top billing, power & money.

Sister Carly Fiorina, Im gonna have to have your back.
Your intelligence more than makes-up-for what your smile may lack.

How dare folks stack like that on your visual reflection???
The hair of Trump? Christies fat rump? I see “uglier” connections.

Your intellect is beautiful and I want to credit you
for the connecting response you gave to Joy on The View.
Ooo!
Yay YOU!

Kick ass & vie swiftly for the head of the class.carly-fiorina
Waters mid-way; how do you see your glass?

Go for it!
You’ve got the GOODS to score it!

I may not share her political views but forget not that WE ARE SISTERS.
You don’t see this topic of nonsense between the political misters.

Let’s get it together ladies if we are to have any kind of sister hood at all.
We love jumping “the new picked-on” – not realizing it’s OUR OWN historical FALL.

hillary-clinton-jimmy-kimmelI feel the same way about Hillary Clinton – why are women in a race to hate on her?
Do unto others as you’d have done unto you… suddenly YOUR OWN LIFE becomes a blur.

Choose not to stand by, respect and understand women? Then choose the same for you.
While women are insulting women, men are winning the race and bidding us adu.

I love a woman who won’t succumb to the poo.
We need more unity between me and you.
XO!!

I think Carly’s response strengthened her stance in dimension.
Also, I’ve got more good to divvy on my new ‘health kick system.’

So I’ve been EATING CLEAN since about June, but more seriously since September.
I have currently lost 15 pounds and am seeing a NEW ME I barely remember.

Qui-Nov2015a

I quit all processed foods, I don’t even use canned goods.
I let go of the chocolate candy and became a new girl in this hood.

I feel great and I’m happy. Being good to my body is my play,

Good morning to thee. I bid you well on this Mayhem’less Monday.

My neighborhood is RICH!

In Communication, Griot, Networking, News, Self Improvement, Travel on January 5, 2015 at 7:08 am

Chances are, if you’re reading this, then you already KNOW where I live: ONLINE, most of the time. Even when I’m out and about I’m usually still connected, in more ways than one. It’s my neighborhood. It’s the people I familiarize with and the things that we do therein, everyday. It’s great.

I’m rarely bored in my neighborhood and while all of us live somewhere with some level of awesomeness, I’m sure — I wanted to share a piece of my neighborhood with you this morning. You know I’m an artsy girl, so let’s start this week out in the ARTS DISTRICT:

I may reside in Arizona, but I find that New York has the most awesome museums. I haven’t travelled the world over, but even in the key places that I have hit, all that I have mingled with hail NY as an arts mecca.

Exhibits open and exhibits close –
todays showcases go blow-for-blow.

The first one opened several years ago and has since closed,
But in my neighborhood — it always has open doe’s [doors]:

Then there’s that awesome exhibit that opened last month –
the Metropolitain Museum hosted an artistic slam dunk.

It was the CUBISM exhibit – crafted in sweat, love and no whim.
The work of Braque, Gris, Picasso and Leger; the existence bears no dim:

Cubism: The Leonard A. Lauder Collection from Above York, LLC on Vimeo.

In my neighborhood, (that is most limitless), I can go anywhere I want to.
I wake up early, rarely in a hurry and do what I want to do.

4am is my preferred time to get up and roam the “www” streets.
Regardless the hour, there’s a strong social power – there’s no telling who I might meet.

My neighborhood is rich. If it’s conversation that you’re seeking,
I’ve more than a few friends who are dimensionally blog speaking:

Neither of my neighobrs are on a ‘news headline’ roll,
most are on beauty, improvement and mundane control.

My neighborhood is rich and our outlook is strong.
Stop and smell the roses – don’t ‘do rut‘ too long.

This is the first Monday of 2015, I’m up and happy about it.
My neigborhood is rich … I’m a literary stitch
It would be weird if I didn’t type it or shout it.

Rise and shine babies. There’s so much to do!
I’m Qui
Welcome to 2015 – There’s new opportunity for you!

…in my neighborhood.
and it’s all to-the-good.

Columnist relies on DNA to get into the game – Literally

In Communication, News, Self Improvement on December 22, 2014 at 6:54 am

Okay, I am certainly the proud mom today. My mini-me has her own fashion column in her high school newspaper and I am so proud that I couldn’t resist sharing her recommendations with you:

Wilson Headline Cropped Complete

Dequota is currently a senior ready for her 2015 graduation walk from high school and into higher education and while she’s an excellent writer and hosting personality, her degree endeavor is Law. Watching the development of her journey is truly something wonderful to write about. There’s certainly no need to even think about breast enhancements today — my chest is sticking out so far. 🙂

The literary genes do not stop,
I’m Qui
and Dequota is a chip off of my own block.

I am grateful because good DNA totally rocks!

PERUSE on FOOD

In Communication, Griot, Networking, Self Improvement, Technology on August 27, 2012 at 10:00 am

Who doesn’t like to eat? I DO! But I must admit I’m more of a snacker than a 4-course meal connoiseuer. Though at my tender young age, I am trying to correct my bad dietetic ways. So instead of hitting the donut shop or IHOP, I’ve been making protein smoothies every morning for breakfast, for about 6 weeks now.

My skin looks GREAT! I accredit it to the ingredients of my morning smoothies: Chocolate Protein, Frozen BlueBerries, Rasberries, pineapple, vanilla yogurt, [natural raw] wheat germ, flaxseeds, a few leaves of fresh spinach and soy milk (vanilla). It’s quite tasty. Sweet in fact. Which is great for me, since sweets are my thing.

While staying healthy and in shape is a quest I’m working hard to conquer, my kid has decided she wants to open up her own cupcakery. She’s always loved to bake but in the face of CUPCAKE WARS – she’s ready to go at it full throttle. And how did I respond to her future dreams? I said, “GO FOR IT. You’ve got great baking skills for a teenager, (she makes her cookies, cupcakes, and icings from scratch). She has officially started her journey and I’m a trusty team member (like on Cupcake Wars).

Check out the current venture of my mini-me:

The Cupcake Chique

She’s so on-fire about building her business for the long run and even legacy purposes. She does a lot of research and has found some pretty cool FOOD SITES that she’s drawing from. Wether it’s in their style, their artistic baking skills or their enticing web presence — she has found inspiration and is using it as fuel to drive her to her goal. I applaud her and the following sites for being so nourishing, sweet and a reminder that AMERICA is still the place where DREAMS can come true:

I’m just a mom. I do what I can
to help out my kid and my fellow man.

So I hit the wire in search of a show
of those who bake – so I could website promote.

My kids website was built 3 weeks back.
I couldn’t let her enter business without having that.

I admit: I’m high on sweets not too much for the the sour.
I’m also fond of technology: Ultrabook & Jack Bauer.

I’m just a mom. I do what I can
to help my neighbor – be they woman or man.

So I hit the wire to see what I could see.
I’m Qui
And for entrepreneurism – I’ll always be sweet.

The benefits of LUNCH

Today I decided to cook lunch, rather than do take out. Besides I’m on a tight budget and all that I had in the freezer was ground beef, turkey burger patties, frozen fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, mangos, pineapple, peaches) and chicken. I went with the chicken, thawed out a few strawberries, pulled fresh spinach from the fridge that I bought last night and mixed up a balsamic vinegarett and tah-dahhh! Lunch is served and the fam is looking at me like I’m a winner ...click here for the recipe – it’s to live for.

ASPARTAME

Decrease the size of your appetite for ASPARTAME. You must. It’s killing you. It’s killing us. Do your own research and save yourself. Be mindful to refrain from chewing MENTOS (or any other sugar free) gum, drinking a diet soda or enjoying a sugar free cookie while engaging in your research. The fore mentioned products are filled with Aspartame and working towards degenerating your health.

I know it’s such strong news and seems to come out of left field, but it’s not. What is in left field is the publics awareness towards the sugar free killer that was FDA approved for dry goods in 1981 and for carbonated soda in 1983. There were 5 deaths attributed to Aspartame prior to 1987 and since then fatality figures have not been made public. Likely because …click here to learn more
