Good Morning Monday

In Communication, Griot, Self Improvement on February 12, 2017 at 10:53 pm

Qui-1-28-16Good Morning Monday
, how did you sleep last night?
I slept snug as a bug  in a rug rolled up real tight.

Not that I asked a bug sleeping snugged in a rug – just how “that” felt,
but I promise I slept like a baby, after my knees knelt.

I’m a praying child and I feel better when I do it.
I always go to God before reaching point #ScrewIt.

How do you do it? Approach the unknown.
It’s good to map that stuff out before you’re too grown.

The unknown is anything that you do not know about.
I like to prepare before hand – the in’s and the out’s,

so I have.
This morning I awoke with a belly’s laugh.

All is well in my familial camp.
Today I’m hyped – Today I’m amp’d.

Good Morning Monday! I ain’t talked to you since Wednesday.
I believe I was on that #ChildhoodFriendship play

and yay! Things for me just got progressively better.
I spent the weekend in Texas and indulged in the unstable weather.beating-heart

I spent time with family and ate quite a bit.
Remember it was there in Texas where I got a little #Thick. 😀

Aw shick! I can’t deny the food in the DFW hood,
From Zaxby’s to CROWNS BBQ, good Lawd – it’s so good.

I’m sure I put on a few,
but now that I’m back in A-Z, I know what to do.

There’s no Zaxby’s in Arizona and very little food seasoning,
there’s no CROWNS BBQ and for that – there’s no good reasoning

to eat myself silly in the Southwest, from an Arizonan plate.
So Good Morning Monday, it’s a fine day for dropping weight.

I’m thrilled today beacause it’s good to be back!
I missed you baby – you gotta believe that.

I accomplished so much – it was hardly play and mostly work.
Tho I did find time to ham it up, cut the fool and twerk.

It was all fun, but that was last weekend.
It’s time to reset and mornings are a great begin.

I love a fresh start and I love what WE’VE got,
Good Morning Monday it’s good to be back in your slot.

Post that round trip flight…

In Communication, Self Improvement, Travel on January 25, 2017 at 7:35 am

life-is-a-box-crayonsIt’s good to be back! I’ve had fun – I have.
I flew out to Dallas and had a Fam blast!

I did fly coach but it felt like first class.
Solo: I handled my business and I busted my ass.

Once I got to the DFW my car rental and hotel were ready.
I with my laptop, a mop and creative energy was steady.

So much happened that all of my tools and skills were on deck.
I was pretty deep off in the woods though strong was my connect.

CLo came through – Mr. Logistics doesn’t play.
CLo is Carlos Ramierez of Choice Valet.

Stephanie came through and then the two of us #CameUp.
She’s my HS alumni living in the Dalworthington cut.

Joe G turned out and brought CJ with him.
CJ is that unbiased beacon when things get dim.

Joe G is my rock, my baby brother, my go-to guy.
The love in the DF-Dub always gets me high.

I’m elevated, I’m happy and it’s good to be home.
I learned so much in Dallas – increased the size of my dome.

From Arizona to Cali, to Dallas and New York:
I have a thing going on between my arrive and depart.

I was in town because Healthcare Workers could not deny
That my dads health is in the last stages (prostate cancer) & he may die.

I was encouraged and didn’t cry but took a flight out
I showed up in person to see what the “hoopla” was about.

Dads homestead was a wreck – there’s no room for any border.
My dear old dad’s square footaged pad was decorated by a hoarder.

Me? Besides a little OCD, I think cleaning is quite therapeutic.
So when I saw the periodical fuss and tinsels of dust – to clean up? I couldn’t refuse it.

It was a HGTV scene to be seen – how I transformed that place.
I hired a young male team, strong and lean – then we put a smile on Dads face.

I restored that place.

Suddenly dad sat up, smiled, and started thanking me a bit.
Then he reverted to his usual self and started talking cash -ish. 😀

It was good to have his spirit back. Helping him did a lot for me,
I’m Qui
That blush invoking she, that flight to Dallas did a world of good for me.
Ooo Wee.

Post that round trip flight…
Fam: I’m feeling alright.

“After Dak & Dem Boys…”

qui-dlalas-hatsTuesday came quick
Like a schtick holding an Acme brick

Looking for a window.
All weekend long I was unavail, on the ‘to and fro,’

So the Schtick missed me –
Then goodness located and kissed me.

I came up on a ticket to a ballers avion.
It was Cinci vs The Cowboys at AT&T stadium.

‘Too happy to attend, I decked myself out in the proper wear;
I was blue and silvered down and not a hater voiced a care.

Unlike when I’m in Chandler, AZ — absolutely no one in the dome stared.
In Arlington, TX loving DEM BOYS via fashion – is aways fair!

I was enveloped in love and that comradely protection.
I was high as a kite in the #NoseBleed section. 😜

cins-vs-cowboys-oct-2016

The jumbo tron was my friend and Ezekial Elliot was on flight.
I held the armrests of my seat – I had to warm up to “the height.”
But after a couple of touchdowns everything was alright.

The “No-No” — was a chant about Romo and shoot
I believe they were saying “Where’s Romo?
Romo WHO!”

But then again I sat on The Bengals side so that I could view the Cowboys bench.
Other than the Romo chant – they kicked Bengal cats and took a Sunday win.

It was ☝🏾️a good time had ☝🏾with good people in tow
Still I couldn’t wait to get back to you, yo!

How are you? How’ve you been?
Did you bet on a game? Did you take home a win?

Did you Fantasy Football participate? I know the competition is hot.
Was Zeke Elliot on your team – did his numbers hit your spot?

A good time in the DFW is what I got for a couple of hours of transport by air,

Happy Tuesday to thee I’ve got renewed energy in my hair.

Cowboy hats, boots and Dallas

In Communication, Griot, Networking on January 31, 2013 at 6:21 pm

Cowboy hats boots and Dallas
I like cowboy hats.

Whether the hat is silver with a respected blue star
or just creased and tall enough to be seen from afar.

It doesn’t have to be a Stetson – please do know
It works for me if it’s good for the rodeo show.

I like boots.

I admire heavy starch on the denim – increasingly sharp
topped by a pair of firm tipped boots known for kicking arse.

I love Dallas.

I like that city that is kindred to mine. I give it a lot of metropolitan love.
I’m from the last two letters in the tri-abbreviation that is: DF-Dub

D stands for Dallas, F stands for Fort and Worth extends the W.
The metropolis is filled with a whole lot of love, but you can find trouble too.

Oooo.

I love Cowboys.

I never thought of myself as being country, but I now I surely know,
I’ll forever love a cowboy – no matter where I go,

because he is the one who embodies all of things that I like.
Ladies: Losing faith in men? A cowboy will do you right!

Hop on one tonight
and enjoy the chivalrous ride.

PS. He doesn’t have to rock the hat, but the boots are a must.
I’m Qui
shooting-the-bull with thee;  in a good time – do I trust.

Happy Weekend baby!

Falling back into FALL

In Communication, Griot, News, Science on March 30, 2011 at 12:06 pm

FALLING Back into FALL

What is going on with this crazy world weather?
I was hoping it was just TEXAS but world reports tell me better:

First dawn was on a time trip – she seemed sluggish in her rise,
now northern winds have found a seasonal friend under the ‘Spring deemed’ skies.

All of this is going on while Japan is slowly but surely rolling down hill;
Our oceans waters that marine life swallows
have been contaminated by the radiation spill
.

We sprang our clocks forward but Mother Nature & weather weren’t with us.
The ground hog came out of the hole, for the ground hog show –
but a “spring dap”he did not give us.

At 44 degrees in the DFW — in the Spring,
questions are raised about this ‘springing forward’ thing.
We’re at the end of March in a cold sling. lol!

So are we Falling back into FALL?
Is there an explanation for Springs stall?

Does anyone besides me really care at all?
I’m Qui
Falling into a sweater
because Springs show has been real small.

F.Y.I. Just in case you didn’t know,
by weeks end the DFW will be in the 80-90 degree flow.
Allergies are like: ‘woah’.

NEWS PERUSE

In Griot, Movies, News, Politics on May 2, 2010 at 8:30 pm

News Peruse

Perusing the News as our new week surely dawns
Peeping coverage about the Times Square SUV bomb.

Then KABOOM –a description of the driving culprit surfaces to light
The “person of interest” was alleged 40/male and white. (by way of ally camera sight)

Get out of town! What in the world is really going on?
Was this some kind of domestic terroristic firecracker quack job gone wrong?

Of course the NYPD will be sure to leave no surveillance cameras unreviewed…
So to whom ever it may concern: it’s you that will soon be screwed.

Following close suit, a DFW homeowner was right to be suspect,
Police found an explosive device inside of her parcel marked Fed EX.

Is the recession almost over? Are you past WALL ST [Goldman Sachs] & doing fine?
What do you think about the bull corn & crooked horns of Lloyd Blankfein?

Other news involves Earths ecology and us
Headlining BP’s massive oil spill all over the Gulf.

The “Change Candidate” wasn’t backed by the oil; thus loosing clout w/them is no bust;
President O has made it known: ‘the tab is on BP’not us:

The box office weekend had an old ’80’s spin —
The razor clawed Freddy Krueger was at it again.
$32 mil in a couple of days always WINS!!!
Let ‘the old boiler room horror’ begin again.

As for AZ’s new immigration law — I’m not bias nor sour,
but Mexican Drug Wars have claimed 24 lives in 24 hours.

This weekend was deadly – but not all was from gunning,
We also lost 11 people from Tennessee flooding.

God Bless the soul that’s not among us on today,
I’m Qui
Perusing the News
and rendering my Griot say.

I’m a MONDAY LOVER!
Love The Day!
