POWER Devour

A Family Friend is someone most of the members of your family know.
You’ve prefaced their name with aunt or uncle; a respectful show.

Eh, yo, have you been watching that series on STARZ?
The storyline bars none and the deeds done are hard.

My Lord, I watched episode eight on yesterday
and I tell you the shows creator and producers do not play.

Kanan gave up his scripted soul in a shootout with the police
because Tariq was feeling hard; Kanan encourages his beast.

And so he’s given up his last dialogue line.
I don’t expect him resurface in the future this time.

The cops swissed him up while Tariq sat in a squad car and watched.
Tariq-Kanan-Power.jpgThe “hard” in Riq hit the road when he was close to losing his own soul;
Kanan chose not to deliver the fatal drop.

I suppose in the end Kanan really was A Family Friend,
as Tasha and Terry Silver abruptly ends.

Yes. Counselman Terry ran for the hills
returning Tasha’s retainer and any idea of intimate thrills.

That was a pretty cold chill, because Tasha had just told Angela and Ghost
that they can feel free to be together, because Terry Silver loves her most.

She said as much only to go straight over to his place
and find his home empty and without a forwarding trace.
The look on Tasha’s face…

She was going to Terry’s to ask him to lie
and yield testimony to the F.B.I. as her “gun witness” alibi.

He just couldn’t do it.
Ol’ Terry packed it up; his actions said “screw it.”

Keisha-Power.pngKeisha and Tommy are trying to get close…
Tommy is beginning to frequent questioning Ghost.

Ghost and Angela took a revived romp in the hay,
but so did Tasha and Terry, before he ran away.

Terry was almost A Family Friend.
Teresi and Tommy are thin blooded kin.

Teresi has plans with the FBI to turn Tommy in.
Diego is dead. Kanan put one in his head
and Dre is headed to the pen.

Yes-Yes, therein episode eight the writers got quite a bit of exposition in.
Blood doesn’t always act like family and who really, is your friend?

You have to know or else all that is good has the potential to sour.

chopping it up with thee about yesterdays episodic POWER Devour.

Please tell me that you’re watching this.

Oy PaperBoi

AtlantaGood morning o’ neighbor, dear WordPress kin,
I’m back on the subject of PaperBoi again.

I like him and his cousin Earnie, his friends Darius and Tracey too.
I’m into exploiting the schemes, their dreams and the things that they go through

because the episodes are packed with potential to teach someone a lesson.
The fact that PaperBoi didn’t die in episode 9 was a miraculous blessin.’

Did you see it?
The luck of PaperBoi; I wouldn’t want to be it.

I love the show and the cast of members
who pull me back into the south and its consequences…I remember.

Season 2, episode 8 of the ATLANTA series
PaperBoi went to get a pedicure and ended up in trees.

A forested scene showed up when he decided to walk home from the salon.
It was a half-thought-out idea because he needed to get his ‘clear mind‘ on.

In route, he ran into 3 dudes on a cruise who attempted to beat him black and blue.
It’s true and PaperBoi was solid on delivering those 1’s and 2’s.

Via his handy-work, a can of whip-ass was unleashed
and that’s what lead him to run through the trees.

After fighting off the 3 dudes including one firing a gun
an immediate run through the forest seemed to be safer fun

as well as a reasonably good effort to get away from them.
PaperBoi’s life is full of circumstantial hem.

With a shiner on his upper cheek and blood in his mouth
he was still his even-keeled self, with no time to wince or pout.

As he submerged himself into the forests’ fist
he met a homeless man who wasn’t sure if he’d let him live.

The homeless man had mental health issues and such,
it appeared he was in the thick creating deer guts.

Yes. He had a box-cutter and was suffering a mentally-ill head;
he was slicing deer at the bowels and the deer would drop dead.

Upon discovering PaperBoi in the woods, lip bleeding, and cheek cut –
the homeless man started to stalk PaperBoi – calling him “deer guts.”

The man was nuts. PaperBoi asked the homeless man to ‘please not follow!’,
the homeless man put the box-cutter to PB’s throat; making it hard to swallow.

It was some truly hairy stuff.
PaperBoi started to tear up – but he was not cut.

The homeless man didn’t relent but kept the box-cutter at his throat.
PaperBoi had just dodged a bullet in the street and this was like ‘whoa!’

So, he took a chance and fell backward – away from the blade at his throat.
Then he ran through the lush green as if he was a starved and grazing goat.

He did not eat the green, but he didn’t let the forest eat him either.
Had my dad’s life not been so comparably wild,  I’d call the writers outliers.

The show is crazy fantastic; though the stories still ring real.
I’ve got a thing for PaperBoi and Donald Glover’s ATLANTA appeal.

That was episode 8, don’t get me started on episode 9,
but PB, Darius, Earnie, and Tracy wandered across a culture line.

A frat pajama party that PaperBoi was due to perform
lead him to a frat house with a Confederate flag, major weed, and little alarm.

Did you happen to see the show?
It’s about trees, again – but the one folks blow.

Oy PaperBoi and cousin Earnie! It’s a pleasure for me to dig your style,

Missing the south but no reason to pout, for your series, is relatively wild!

POWER Plays and Executions

Kanan and his son, Shawn

Chess moves and POWER plays are made everyday in business and in life. There’s no better series reflecting those moves in script form, than made on the Starz series POWER. My goodness did you see Season 2 – the 8th episode? I hope that you have, because I’m serving up griot and since the episode is a few weeks old I’m yielding a broadcast of the show. Yo! Yo! Yo! Yo! How much can you take?

I thought episode 7 was tough and then 8 came along
Kanan is still singing that same ol’ tired song.

He’s in to convince associate drug dealers that Ghost is all wrong.
Kanan wants details on Shawn breaching Tasha’s betrothed thong.

POWER has the most interesting ‘going on’s’ and I try not to miss too many.
Kanan possesses a soul from hell, and as far as “details” this episode [here] has plenty:

Episode 9 revealed to us that:

.

Tommy was in jail and up for bail
for being involved in that ‘money delivery hell.’

Lobos is in NY trying to moves dollars,
but Angie conducts a bust and it all goes to sour.

Tommy was in the hotel room when the bust went down.
Tommy was decked in orange and booked downtown.

Ghost and Ange’ were still hitting it; though Fed-wise she was getting greedy,
yielding to the embrace of Ghost…  the side piece was playing “the needy.”

The writers were pretty seedy in kicking out this script
and the fact that we lost Shawn was a dysfunctional and familial trip.

His father’s name is Kanan – and Kanan assumed biblical history at familiars table
when he killed his son, Shawn in cold blood – like Cain did his brother Able.

Kanan wasn’t even coked up – this guy is just bad blood.
He killed his son like he was doing nothing wrong – Kanan is a thug.

Give the writers a big ol’ hug! They squeezed the life out of this episode,
I’m Qui
Digging P — and anticipating the seasons finale to appeal like gold.

After all “to have us hooked and waiting” is the writers ultimate goal.
To Starz and Power Producers: You got the goods, I love it. Kudos!
