15-year old actress Dequota Wilson stars in WHAT HAD HAPPENED WAS

So I spent the last weekend filming outdoor location scenes
then dove straight into editing – that Final Cut thing.

The shots I had in mind were reeled in with ease
The weather was seering – and yielded no breeze.

Arizona is boasting triple digit degrees.

The project is a teen film; pitching a humanity connect.
Via life, our teens are learning priceless wisdom and respect.

I wrote a script of points and checks to help jog the mind
of the importance of lifes journey; a purposeful find.

It’s a narrative piece; conscience streams and I am ready.
I got the idea from Mr. Fab 5 Freddy.

He’s a documentary man; he introduced us to hip hop.
He’s a man of constant creativity. The vein never stops.

I am like a radio, ready to receive and broadcast a purposeful joint.
And whenever I talk to Fab 5 Freddy, his responses are always on point.

My beloved Reel Monday will yield me more of the same.
My career is really too much fun; a creative & skillful game.

Real talk.

Script brief: Life is full of wisdom. Learn it and earn your respect.
Folks – thats the idea I’m reeling to render at the next film festival connect.

Our children are our future and I am a nourisher of,
I’m Qui
Happy Monday to thee. Wish me and the crew some positive love.

Work and Play.

Let’s talk ULTRABOOKS

In Griot, Networking, News, Technology on April 29, 2012 at 4:51 pm

No longer do you have to compromise on speed when you buy a sleek, thin laptop. Ultrabooks come with the power of 2nd Generation Intel Core processors (intel.com), and they’re less than 1-inch thick.

There are a few that come to mind off the cuff: Samsung Series 5 BPU530u4b-A01US with 2nd Gen Intel Core i5 processor, Dell XPS13-0015SLV with 2nd Gen Intel Core i5 processor, Toshiba Portege with 2nd Gen Intel Core i3 processor, and the Asus Zenbook UX31-RSL8 with 2nd Gen Intel Core i5 processor.

There are 3 things to look for when shopping for a new lap device: Performance, Style & Design, and Responsiveness.

PerformanceGreat multitasking power, supports 1080p Full HD movie downloads, HDMI outputs so you can watch on your HDTV and long battery life.

Style & Design1-inch thin. How much less bang do you want for your buck? lol!

ResponsivenessSSD’s. Not to be confused with and means nothing close to STD’s. SSD’s are a quick responsive asset. SSD stands for solid-state drivers.

Recently my 17″ MacBookPro with all the fixins broke down on me right in the middle of a MOTIONS class. Lucky me, I had to take a trip to the Apple store and take a seat at the Genius Bar. Nervous for sure. Turns out my video card was bad and unresponsive. The tech was so laid back, quick in diagnosis and cool. Then he said, the cost to repair the video card is $526.50. Knowledge is power – sure, but I just felt naked. Desperate and naked. Thinking (nearly aloud) ‘where in the world am I going to get that kind of dough from on a Tuesday night?’ another tech walks up, analysis the findings and says, while it’s true my warranty is up, (I purchased it in 2008), the replacement would be at no cost to me. Then he jargon’ed tech savviness to the other tech. I signed a contract of repair and was out of there. 7 days later, I’m back with my baby. Muah! She works like new. The Apple techs also cleaned my laptop like NEW! When I turned it on, it had a scuff mark atop of it. When I picked it up, I almost wanted to put it in a box, velvet, or at least wear gloves because it was so clean.

All the same, I now see the importance of having another lap device to lean on, to share the work load with besides my main piece. In her absence I used a DELL. It rode hard, but I missed my Apple. However, in these economic times my budget does not look like Apple money. It’s kind of sounds like it’s screaming pc money. That’s why I’ve been following pc technology of late.

So I ain’t mad at INTEL for doing their thing
and anchoring at the core of many scenes.

I’m not mad at APPLE for being good to me
as I reel this Final Cut legacy.
I am not mad at all.

I am however concerned that
Once you go Mac – you never go back.

I’m Qui
a technology she with a bit of a researching knack.
Can I go back?

Naked on The Grassy Knoll

In Music on March 31, 2010 at 6:03 am

A Window Seat with Erykah Badu

A Naked Erykah Badu on the grassy knoll in Dallas where President Kennedy was shot, is stirring up all kinds of controversy over the last two days. The video “WINDOW SEAT” [watch it HERE] is phenomenal (if you ask me) and for a plethora of reasons: Unbridled ART being #1.

Ms. Badu walks the downtown streets of Dallas towards the exact spot where President Kennedy was assasinated. During her walk she sheds her jacket, shirt, pants, bra and panties — ultimately revealing the “EVOLVING” tattoo (message) across the upper part of her back (between the shoulders). Once she reaches the approximate spot where President Kennedy was shot, we hear gunfire and a shapely NAKED Erykah Badu falls dead in the road. At that point we hear the following narration:

“THEY (playing it safe) are quick to assasinate what they do not understand.
They move in packs ingesting fear more and more with every act of hate on one another.
They feel more comfortable in groups – LESS GUILT to swallow.
They are us. This is what we’ve become: Affraid to RESPECT the Individual.
A single person within a circumstance can move one to CHANGE;
to LOVE herself;
EVOVLE.

By God Erykah is right! WE are THEY –collectively.

More over that, the video demonstrates Erykah being “one person within a circumstance” — a circumstance that the city of Dallas is now investigating for possible copyright infringements. As you can see, (Watch Video HERE), it doesn’t look like too many copyright laws have been infringed upon besides the few seconds of audible narration that opens the video. However, in all honesty — THAT too would be easy to recreate with Final Cut Soundtrack Pro. The video reel was shot and edited to have a “dated & historical feel” much like the original footage archived of President Kennedy during his visit to Dallas, TX. GENIUS!

The video is GENIUS in two parts, [1] by recalling history & stirring up discomfort and [2] comes in an obvious plea found in the songs chorus:

“I need you to want me.
I need you miss me.
I need yo’ attention!
I need you next to me.
I need someone to clap for me.
I need yo’ direction.
Come back – Come back Baby.
Come back.”

I’M BACK 🙂 and I’m so glad I’ve got a WINDOW SEAT into the vision of Ms. Erykah Badu’s artsy exhibition of history and present — to date. What did you think about it?
