Perhaps you did or did not see Fox’s broadcast
that investigated the deaths of Pac & Big; two decades past.

It was all real chronicle, no slamming tracks or laughs.
It yeilded a lot of concrete proof and a bit of ‘crooked-cop gas.’

There was new insight for me, to which I thank God
that Pac was only shot ONCE at the elevator in Quad.

Or rather that’s what I learned last night.
Sounds like Pac was shot by self – during that life byte:

.

Yep! I told you Fab5 would be in the broadcast, but I didn’t know
Soledad and Ice-T would kick it with F 2+3 in his Harlem studio.
It’s the spiz-ot yo.

Anywho, the 2-hour broadcast brought through rumors, facts and now a blog.
Pointing to several rival groups, including gang involvement and crooked cops.

Las Vegas never closed the case on Pac
and because Vegas loves an ongoing show — ‘It don’t stop.

Los Angeles never really properly closed the case on Big
or we would be more certain of WHO the culprit is that ‘split his wig.’

The WHY’s are very sketchy, though the broadcast seemed to imply
Pac was a walking-tale to be told, and didn’t mind living out a lie.

Perhaps he was not shot multiple times outside of Quad studio.
Still he allowed the riddled rumor of him being shot up – go fro.

I loved him, yo. I really did.
I’ve always been a fairytale kid.

I’m most sorry to Mrs. Wallace and Faith Evans alike.
I was reminded per the rewinding that Christopher lost his life.

The larger than life man
on that night – didn’t stand a chance.

God bless Biggie and God bless Pac.
2 icons were on the rise. 2 icons were shot.

The special investigation was hot. I’m not lying.
Kudos to Ice-T’s cred in the street and Soledad O’Brien.

Me? It’s Monday and I’m ready to start anew.

When the LEGEND becomes FACT

In Communication, Griot, Music, Networking, News on April 24, 2012 at 9:53 am

Everyone knows “When the legend becomes fact – print the legend“, and so that’s exactly what Ed Piskor did. He put Fab5Freddy, Blondie and Lee Quinones into print:

Ed has been cartooning professionally in print form since 2005, starting off drawing American Splendor comics written by Harvey Pekar. His winning beginning has lead him to comic’ing the beginning of a history best told in print: HIP HOP. From comprehending ‘spray paint tagging’ to comic ragging – Ed is already a legend himself. Peep his comic point of view.

Welcome to the Brain Rot INTRO: Hip Hop Family Tree, Bull99 Becomes Fred Fab 5

How cool is it for Fab5’s freshness to be so chilled
that Ed would comic about it along side of SUGAR HILL?

That Blondie and The Clash would also be in the same said print,
reiterates that Fab is still a staple in our HIP HOP rent.

Ahhh the life of a legend. It certainly takes one to print one.

Enjoying Mr. P. & Hip Hop History — by a long shot it is not done…
