BLACK JESUS deserves a good word over Aaron McGruder’s reflective skill.
If you were a fan of The BOONDOCKS? Black Jesus yields the people something they can feel:

A wing & a prayer. But is the wing smoked or fried?
Be curious. It’s fun – not serious. Go ‘head, do stop by.

Tanya is the coolest new cast member to be dug.

Broken love proves to be futile.

Call on Iyanla or another counselor whose work parallel’s.

It’s better to do it with Iyanla than to loose your cool with SWAT.

Cool Stuff on my desk…

In Communication, Dream Journal, Griot, Networking, News, Self Improvement, Sports, TV Shows on November 14, 2016 at 7:19 am

qui-desk-nov2016Good morning sweetheart, I hope that you are well
and have taken a couple of #SelfPreservation moments for yourself.

I dream a lot when I’m asleep. Doth you and do you ever recall?
I usually wake up in the midst of my dreams clutch and yes! — I remember all.

Though as of late the dreams have been a bit different
and I seem to have the option to forget them or to remember.

I journal a lot in book bind, but as of late, I’ve been a little lazy.
I’ve not been doing much journaling but dream noting before the memories get hazy.

I did no dream journaling this weekend, but did I dream? BOY DID I.
I have also retained their memories — and I most certainly did not try.

The dreams have been adventurous in nature, but not necessarily my go-to-fun.
While all may need interpreting on many levels I think I’ve decoded one.

I dreamed of snow on my family’s estate home on a hillside back in a time before my birth.
The snow on the ground: is a metaphor for the cold feelings; my family’s dysfunctional girth.

It was in the final stages of melting and for all that it’s worth
that’s good news for me, my relatives and my last nerves. 😀

There were many more signs and I’m about decoding dreamland scenes…
If you’re nosy like me, drop in on this site and give a go at understanding your dreams:

I keep the link bookmarked inside of my google chrome desk.
I keep my dream research notes real close to my vest.

Who the heck cares about what I’m dreaming?
I do, because it helps me to tighten my seaming.

Speaking of tightening productive seams, when was the last time you tuned into OWN?
I do it every so often because I’m black and I’m grown ISO which generational seeds were sewn

that yield to curse and give way to legacy love.
I tune into OWN because I’m a #SelfEmpowering thug.

This weekend while I was thugging, I came up on Iyanla V.’s show
a show participant read the following piece and I was like ‘Woah.’

I like it very much so I thought I’d share it with you,
and anytime you’re in a bind of angst finds – here’s what you do:

It’s an awesome goto and now the print is sitting on my desk.
I’m by no ways perfect but always on the hunt to be my best.

Is a note that says: DEM COWBOYS! DON’T STOP!

Arlington, TX, USA; Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott (21) celebrates with quarterback Dak Prescott (4)

The Dallas Cowboys won again. This makes our record 8-1.
Dak will continue to lead the pack, but Romo is not done.

Romo needs time to heal from all of the previous career jeer sacks.
Switching in a hurry isn’t for Jerry; therefore Ro will have Daks back.

Romo isn’t tripping at all – I’m channeling that he isn’t even really that mad
He just wants to go to the Superbowl and he’ll take a captains ride with Dak.

I’m surely pitching for the future. I’d love to see the Cowboys back in the playoff’s.
I was a Troy Aikman girl, then Romo changed my world and now Dak is the new cost.

It’s a bit of a new fit, but isn’t that life.
We just had an election and voted in strife.

Sometimes the coolest stuff happens when you live and let live.
The coolest stuff happens when you’re compassionate and give

a little of yourself, your time and your understanding,

#WiseWord…

I have met some pretty fantastic people online and offline, that have fantastic conversation. No matter what topic we are on, they always have the perfect quips, responses and quotes on hand. These are the most entertaining persons especially when marinated in wisdom. Proverbial quotes – I like them. They can be witty, instructional and informational all at once. Wisdom does indeed come with age though I have found divine wisdom coming out of the mouths of babes, on a few occasions as well. That’s the best kind of communicative exchange – when you walk away wiser and proactively in thought.

I was raised in the church and I remember when Pastor Floyd G. Taylor would preach and the saints were feeling it – they would belt out encouraging remarks like, “SAY THAT!, Tell the truth! and Amen!” Those are my exact sentiments when I fall into the captive conversation of a well versed conversationalist. Now while I can hold my own in verse, I am always in it to learn so the following quotes are a a mixed bag of wisdom, order and musical fad. All of the quotes are enlightening and much can be drawn from them in comprehension. Let’s take a gander at WHO SAID WHAT:

“The here after is what we are here after – [this refers to] life and how we live it.”  — Thomas JNewark, NJ
[I was dealt this quote from a member of Hi5/Tagged].

ADD THIS up!

“I’d rather have 4 quarters than a 100 pennies. I don’t roll real deep just a few real brothers.
You can have 10 dimes, I’ll take a solid dollar. Just a down-to-earth chick — I don’t have money problems.”

FAILURE really does help:

THINK ABOUT IT:
“If at first you don’t succeed —- How did it feel? Give it some honest thought. Then the call of the next move is yours based on the feeling subsiding and the weight of the lesson learned. ” — Qui.

eckhart-tolle-quote-super-soul-sunHOW TO BE HAPPY:
“Decide every morning that you are in a good mood.” — Anonymous (i.e., Life)

WHAT About SEX?
Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power. — Oscar Wilde

ABSTINANCE:
“My boyfriend and I live together, which means we don’t have sex—ever. Now that the milk is free, we’ve both become lactose intolerant.”
—Margaret Cho

“WISDOM comes with the ability to be still. Just look and just listen. No more is needed. Being still, looking, and listening activates the non-conceptual intelligence within you. Let stillness direct your words and actions.” —ECKHART TOLLE, Stillness Speaks

About LIFE.
In the end, the overriding factor in whether or not you realize your dreams is going to be you. Not the world. YOU.” – Russell Simmons

Yepper! I’ve hammered out a few more quotes and I hope that you can use them.
Read them, comprehend them, then break them down and use them.proverbs_31_25

With each line I was informed and humored alike – I really can’t refuse them.
I’m grateful to the #GoodHeads who initially ‘said’ – and the inspiration that did fuel them.

I usually like to add a quote of my own — for a little fizz and spice.
Then I like to throw in a proverb or two and put any bruises on ice:

It’s good to be good and it’s nice to be nice,

In the business of other peoples business

In Communication, Griot, Music, Networking, News, Self Improvement, TV Shows on April 17, 2013 at 9:27 am

dmx-flips-outNetworking exposes others to others, thus reblogging is not ever a crutch.
I wouldn’t be properly communicating if I didn’t share this piece from Clutch.

DMX breaksdown on an OWN broadcast of Iyanla.
Clutch’s Demetria L. Lucas reflects the highlights all on ya:

…In case his ongoing erratic behavior over the years didn’t clue you in that something is wrong with X, his appearance on the latter two shows, and specifically on Sunday’s Iyanla, Fix My Life should have. He was twitchy, nervous, switching seamlessly between shucking responsibility, martyrdom, rage, guilt tripping and rambling so much that Iyanla finally just asked DMX what everyone watching at home was thinking, “Are you high?”

He said, “no.” In a post-show interview with Jet magazine, X insisted again that he was sober. In a separate interview, his son, Xavier was asked if his dad was high and said, “I don’t know.” That Vanzant, or anybody else, even had to ask said enough. There was a collective agreement—on Black Twitter, at least— that he was lying anyway.

I don’t know exactly what is wrong with ol’ Earl “DMX” Simmons or what he needs. That’s over my head. But I know what he doesn’t need is cameras trained on him for viewers to sit at home and gawk at him, feel pity for him, or worse, laugh at his disease.

Whatever was going on during Sunday night’s show, whether X was, high and/or otherwise unwell, either from unresolved trauma or an undiagnosed disorder, he shouldn’t have been allowed on TV in that state of mind. Yes, I know X asked to participate, but someone with a level head should have turned him down to appear on camera, arranged a private consultation or at least delayed his appearance until he was clearly sober and tested to be sure…” [click here to continue]

Demetria makes a good case. I do indeed understand.
Good show-making shouldn’t be at the expense of a frustrated man.

But lets be real, DMX consented to being on the show.
So a man has problems. I say let him blow.

He may have a little money, but the struggle is oh so real.
Sometimes folk have to see themselves on video, before considering to heal.

It’s okay to air-it-out, if it’s a part of X’s journey to ‘fix it.’
If for the sole sake of reality play – the idea should have been in pile: nix it.

Iyanla Vanzant isn’t Oprah – there is no debating.
Oprah’s station OWN is the business of reaping good ratings.

So I’m sure
Iyanla wishes DMX a cure.

She’s in the business of other peoples business.
And we’ve become fond of watching her shindig.

So for now
DMX’s interview was an episode cash cow.

And they all win!
May the reality of all (with all parties) set in.

Exploiting is a strong word and choices are always true,
I’m Qui
Kicking it with thee because I’m curious of your point of view.
