I’m PROUD like…

I’m PROUD like I’m a brand new auntie or something…
Bey said she is prego and since then, I’ve heard nothing —

from the side chicks with short wicks who were looking for a quick fuse
Jay-Z is nourishing a new 2-piece and likely won’t have time for the #GoldDiggerBoo.
Ooo.

bey-jayz.jpg

To me, that’s good news! I did not want the power CARTERS to break up.
I mean I loved me some LEMONADE but all I needed was one cup.

I was praying the tangy-ness would wake Mr. Jay-Z up.
A billionaire with a lot of flair; it’s not odd to be temped to cut-up.

beys-bambinos-2017You know American history. I am not here to re-sell it.
I’m that GRIOT SHE: Qui.  I’m just here to tell it.

I’m PROUD for the Carters, like I’m Auntie Qui or something.
This is the kind of PERUSE I like in the NEWS
because lately, there’s been nothing.

#MyNiece in Keller, TX is in love and is getting married in a week.
She’s my only niece on this family wing and she asked me to reception Emcee.
Ooo wee.

I’ve got my work cut out for me, though I’ve been around.
Give me the mic, and I’ll give you what you like —
MizQui is known to hold no bars and straight clown.
Yes honey! (Snap-Snap!) I get’s down. 😀

I’m PROUD because it’s an honor to entertain via personality say
among family, friends and non blood-kins on such a blessed betrothing day.

The count down is on and I have my part to play.
I’m PROUD to be kicking it with you. What are you up to today?

Watching any good television? You have!? You might?
Well don’t forget HBO will be broadcasting BILL MAHER tonight.

john-luther-idris-elba.jpgPlanning to stay in and cop an R&R fix?
I recommend a friend, snacks, liq and Netflix.

I recently watched a show with intellectual twists that delightfully cut through ya,
It stars Idris Elba playing the role of [Gov.] Police Captain John LUTHER.

LUTHER” is the name of the show and it was ruthless to its scripts core.
It had more deaths in its establishing episodes than I remember in FOX’s 24.

Woo! Remember that?
When we first met Jack.
Folks were dropping so fast,
I wondered how the show could last.

Good times.

Today is a fine day to feel PROUD about yourself.
It’s Friday – a likely payday, may you #ComeUP on your wealth.

This day is a full one for me as I’m hammering this piece out #OnTheRun,
I’m Qui
I’m PROUD about WE, enjoy yourself today and cop some fun.

Life is short and TIME is refundable to none.

Russell said DO YOU!

In Book, Communication, Griot, Music, Self Improvement on October 31, 2012 at 10:35 am

When I need extra motivation, I just lean back on my trusty bookshelf and any book on the top shelf is an encouraging self improvement winner. That’s where I rediscovered Russell Simmons DO YOU! 12 Laws to Access The Power in YOU to Achieve Happiness and Success. Have you read it before? Maybe you haven’t and maybe you have – regardless, it’s still good, reaffirming and uplifting information. Today I want to go back through the book and share the Law Number One to access the power in you to achieve happiness and success. Are you down for the 4-1-1? Great! Let’s peep the game of a game winner: Russell Simmons. And it goes a little something like this:

Pursue and execute knowledge whether or not you went to college.

Law #1:
See your vision and stick with it

Being an entrepreneur can be nerve-wracking, largely because there’s no by the book way to do it. Some people think they’ll get the blueprint at business school, but that degree alone definitely won’t guarantee success. In fact, out of all the degrees you can get, a business degree might be the least valuable.

Think about it — if you go to medical school, when you come out, you’ll know how to help sick people. Just like when you get out of law school, you’ll know how to sue people. But an MBA doesn’t mean you’ll have the skills to actually run a business. They probably don’t want to hear that up at Wharton or Harvard, but it’s the truth. And I’m a living example. I might run multimillion dollar companies, but I didn’t graduate from college, let alone get an MBA. I don’t know how to write a business plan. Truth is, I’ve never even read the ones I pay people with MBA’s to write for me. Now, don’t get me wrong — a business degree can open up a lot of doors for you. But it should always complement, instead of compensate for, an entrepreneurial spirit that’s born in your imagination. That’s because, in my experience, there’s only one thing that will always steer you toward success: That’s to have a vision and to stick with it.

“Degrees are helpful, but they won’t guarantee you success in the business world.

Only faith and dedication to your vision can do that.”

_________________________________________________

Once I have a vision for a new venture, I’m going to ride that vision until the wheels come off. There are always going to be bumps in the road, but I try not to let them faze me. In fact, my greatest successes started as visions that very few other people believed in. No one in the music industry, and I mean no one, believed in Def Jam Records at first. Just like how fifteen years later, no one thought a hip hop clothing company called Phat Fashions would be able to make it. But in both cases, I was able to ignore naysayers because my vision for those companies was so strong. And it’s not just me. From Microsoft to CNN to Roc-A-Fella Records, many successful businesses started as a vision in the mind of a dreamer. Of course we all have dreams. The difference is that Bill Gates, Ted Turner, Jay-Z and Dame Dash believed in their dreams so strongly that they refused to quit until those dreams became reality. Those guys didn’t win because they had an MBA, or wrote the best business plan, or read The Wall Street Journal with their coffee every morning. They won because they had the strongest visions. I’m not going to make too many absolute statements in this book, but I will promise you that following your vision will always lead to success.

When sailors used to get lost in a storm, they’d always look to the North Star for guidance. They could use that star to help them get their bearings because it never moved in the sky. You have to use your vision the same way. Whenever you face obstacles or hurdles in life, look to your vision. As long as you’ve frozen it in your mind and it never moves, you’ll know which direction to go in. As long as you never lose sight of your vision,l you’ll never lose sight of success either. [page 13-14]

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Don’t ever lose sight of your vision.
Don’t ever look away and put it in remission.

Stay focused like Jay-Z, or Stacey’s cousin Dame.
Always be guilty of moving forward to build your own thang.

Russell Simmons isn’t a college graduate nor does he have an MBA.
Does any of that matter, when his clothing like is PHAT’er and his big money is made?

Imagination is everything. Even Albert Einstein was quoted saying so.
Thus when it comes to making your mark – follow your vision, YO!

Life is to be lived and the more rewarding the better,
I’m Qui
Happy Hump Day to thee – Let us always be go-getters.

Russell said to do it and I believe him, YO!
This is only the first excerpt, I will follow up with mo’.

In the meantime,
follow your vision and shine!

DO YOU!

A Tattle Tales Hell

On Thursday, Ecuador granted Assange political asylum at its London embassy on the grounds that, if extradited to Sweden to be questioned about sexual assault allegations, he would be at risk of further extradition to the US to face espionage or conspiracy charges.

Assange sought refuge at the embassy two months ago following the dismissal of his final legal appeal against extradition to Sweden.

Senator Carr has repeatedly dismissed suggestions that the US has any interest in prosecuting and extraditing Assange. In June, Senator Carr also told the ABC Insiders program: “I’ve received no hint that they’ve got a plan to extradite him . . . I would expect that the US would not want to touch this.”

However, the Australian embassy in Washington reported in February that “the US investigation into possible criminal conduct by Mr Assange has been ongoing for more than a year”. The embassy identified a wide range of criminal charges the US could bring against Assange, including espionage, conspiracy, …click here for more on Assanges predicament

GREATNESS Includes 2K Sports, Jay-Z & Michael Jordan

There’s an old saying, good is the enemy of great, a theme that we hold close at 2K Sports. As mentioned before, we have an extremely talented development team, and we’re never truly satisfied. – There have been lots of long nights debating what if or what could we do to make the game better from last year. This attitude is contagious across the company and is what’s pushed us to produce what we feel is the best basketball game on the market today. Our goal at the start of each development cycle is not a sales figure, it’s to surpass what we’ve previously done and what anyone else has done and so far that mentality has worked out extremely well for us. Sticking with this philosophy, we feel we’ll fare well in this, and future markets,” Argent wrote.

2K said Jay Z handpicked the 24 songs and has been extremely active and hands-on in his role as executive producer, Argent wrote. It has been that way since 2K first approached the musical artist, who also owns a small piece of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and designed the team’s logo. HOT NBA News usually leads me down a road of thought to NBA greats like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. More specifically, Kobe Bryants [2012 Dream Team] comments (paraphrased), ‘this years Olympic Dream Team was better than the ’92 Dream Team’.

Mikes response, “Well, I knew that was going to be a debate. It is a debate. We’ll never know, but let’s talk about it if you want to talk about it. I know Kobe said some things early on, and I responded. The 92 Dream team was, I felt, a more well-rounded basketball team. He thought we were a little old…So, I think the team, itself, would have been well-rounded defensively, offensively, inside, outside. I just felt like we had enough size that we could contend with the 2012 team. One of the things the 2012 team lacked was size. We probably would have attacked them from inside and then outside. Our defense would have been pretty much solidified with the shot blockers as well as perimeter defensive players,” Jordan said. “I don’t think we would have had any problems with them.”

Great video game premise:

1992 Dream Team -vs- 2012 Dream Team

Jordan speculated that the ability to play the two teams head-to-head in NBA 2K13 would probably generate more debate – not less — about which team reigns supreme.”

Does everyone remember the roster for that original “Dream Team?” Look at the picture above to see how many Hall of Famers you can name. (Spoiler alert: Christian Laettner isn’t one of them).

Is Romney-Ryan Ticket a TOTAL RECALL

Playing out like a movie…

[Former Rep. Mel Levine (D-Calif.)]
With the announcement of Governor Romney’s presumptive running mate, Congressman Paul Ryan, I am beginning to wonder if this election will be 2008 all over again.

To be clear, I believe that Congressman Ryan is an intelligent man. He has clearly devoted himself to his work and commands an impressive knowledge of the U.S. fiscal policy. But Ryan’s intelligence does not blunt the impact of his extremist budget or right-wing voting record.

It doesn’t end there. Congressman Ryan would like to end Medicare as we know it, turning it into a voucher system which puts the burden of payment on the backs of seniors. According to CBS News, the elderly would have to pay as much as 68 percent of their health care coverage under Congressman Ryan’s plan, compared to the 25 percent they currently pay. What’s more, according to the Urban Institute, a nonpartisan think tank, the plan would replace Medicaid with block grants, causing between 14-27 million low-income Americans to lose health insurance.

Just like Governor Palin, Congressman Ryan’s extremism is not contained to one policy area. Congressman Ryan has maintained a radically anti-choice agenda, stating that all abortions should be illegal, even in the case of rape or incest, and co-sponsored a personhood bill that would declare that life begins at fertilization, effectively outlawing most forms of birth control. He also shares Governor Palin’s intolerance for equal rights for all, …click here to complete the question of a TOTAL RECALL Campaign

Here’s ‘your watercooler crib sheet’ for the month… and it is as follows::

1) A Song for Trayvon
Chaka Khan Leads the Charge

Is it time for another “We Are the World” or “That’s What Friends Are For”? Apparently so, according to Chaka Khan. The supersongstress gathered an impressive group of friends together to record “Super Life” in honor of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed young mangunned down in Sanford, Fla. Eric Benet, Angela Bassett, Kelly Price, Kenny Lattimore and Boris Kodjoe are among the celebs who donned hoodies for the recording of the song.

2) Juneteenth
Free at Last!

June 19th lives on in our history because on that day in 1865, Texans finally got the news about the Emancipation Proclamation — two and a half years after it had been signed.

Junteenth is a holiday or has an official observance in more than 30 states, including Texas, Alaska, Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee, Vermont, Wisconsin, Louisiana and Kentucky.

So toast with BIG RED soda pop and trade your raggedy clothes for something more upscale. it’s Juneteenth tradition

3) Best-selling Artists
No Bootlegging Allowed

In honor of Black Music Month, we scoured the records at the Recording Industry of America and found the handful of our artists who made the best-selling-of-all-time cut. No one is in the top 10, but the following made the top 100 list: Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Prince, 2Pac, R. Kelly, Jay-Z, Boyz II Men, Janet Jackson, Luther Vandross, Earth Wind & Fire, Sade and OutKast.

4) Black History Moment
Another African-American Invention

Edward T. Gilliam was the first Black man to earn a professional engineering license in the state of New Jersey. In 1976, as a mechanical engineer with Allied Chemical, Gilliam created a viscoelastometer, a device for testing solids in tire manufacturing that ultimately led to better ways to extend tire life. Despite such a significant breakthrough, a state official omitted Gilliam’s name when listing new licensees in a 1977 ceremony. Now 92, Gilliam (an uncle of former Pittsburgh Steeler QB Joe Gilliam and Boston College basketball coach Sylvia Crawley) was recently honored by the National Society of Black Engineers and touted for overcoming adversity and racism.

5) Oscar Update
Science Fiction Takeover?

Both Oscar winner Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis have told EBONY they would love to star in sci-fi movies, where they can expand their repertoires. Well, the wishes of The Help starts have finally been granted: Spencer is currently filming the thriller Snow Piercer a story about a rebellion staged by the few humans who survive global warming; and in March 2013, Davis will star in the movie adaptation of award-winning sci-fi novel Ender’s Game, a tale about a child who is trained to kill an alien race using video games that might not be games at all.

Preacher trapped in a rappers body…

In Communication, Griot, Music, Networking, News, Self Improvement on April 10, 2011 at 9:38 pm

Meet Norris J.

He sho’ makes positive rap sound cool. In fact, he’s “THE COOLEST” inspirational rapper I know and his swag is easily comparable to Will Smith.

So if you’ve found as of late that you’re driving music has been reduced from: jamming the latest rap song in it’s entirety -to- only jamming the instrumental – you are not alone. I’ve even taken to freestyling (making up rhymes about me), because I refuse to be a held hostage to “lyrical trash” over dope beats.

I just wont do it.

However, thanks to Norris J, LeCrae, Common, Mr. Pointman, and a local (DFW) cat I know named Groovy — I too can jam a rap joint in its entirety during my road transitions.

I learned of Norris J last winter through an internet shopping executive and she absolutely couldn’t say enough about him. She immediately googled him (on the spot) to make an informal introduction. I’m not easily impressed when it comes to rap – you know this. I like WORDS. They matter to me. I like them to make sense.

Words don’t seem to be of much value to the fad rapper, and the moral of the story is usually: GARBAGE (pronounced gar-bahj).

However, Norris J is on something entirely different. The beats are jamming and the chorus hooks are easy to get stuck in your head. In fact, the ONLY DIFFERENCE between Norris J’s raps and say those of Jay Z or Drake, is simply in THE WORDS he chooses to use – especially in his hooks.

It’s minor adjustments like these (new trends), if caught onto can make a huge difference in our culture and the comprehension of value in our youth. Think about it. They repeat everything they hear…

Norris J is cooler than a fan on HIGH.
Though I won’t lie –
I was NOT looking for another rapper to come nigh…

Then all of a sudden:

This weekend I had the pleasure to network in a little fun,
that’s when I met VeniceMr. Norris J’s mom.

She’s his No. 1 fan. She’s honest in her bias view,
but she was in good company, because I’m an INJ fan too.

After listening more intently and being inspired by every spoken sentence
I knew I had to tell you about Norris and work his mom’s name all up in it. lol!

Norris J is a lyrical beast overlayed on beats and his swagger does deem him a hotty!
Not to mention his insides are good, he’s a “Preacher trapped in a rappers body”.

That last line is a quote from “THE KINGDOM”kin to the headlining video joint,
I’m Qui
CONVERSATION RULES THE NATION and this brothers rap lyrics are on point.

PS — This is good news for me and my youthful intellectual kin,
Thanks to an elite few we too can jam rap in our cars again.
Let’s support positivity & we’ll POSITIVELY WIN.
Hit up REVERB and get your Norris J order in!

Of course he’s spreading good vibes on FACEBOOK and TWITTER too.
Befriend him and “LIKE” his pages —you know how we do. 🙂

Water Cooler BULL CORN

The water cooler social vice has been on ice every since mid term elections;
While we collectively pray “bi-partisanship” will yield productive political erections.

So as of the last two weeks, I’ve refused to delve in…
My remote control did not fall for the ‘okey doke’ on CNN.
Too much bloated news – should be a sin.

Ergo this weeks media hype isn’t pertinent, hypersensitive, nor hairy;
‘Tis The engagement of Prince Williamhe’s ready to be married.
He’s already loosing his hair, (He’s got his Dads “royal hair line” scene).
He proposed to a “cautious speaking” Katherine – giving her his Moms ring.

I saw Dick Cheney speak at George Bush’s ground break ceremony @ SMU,
He’s frail, he’s thin and had a cough that said – bear with me & pray me through.
His cane held him up but not long enough to finish his Obama cracking speech
He said he’ll finish it at the Bush Dedication ceremony – coming up in year 3.
Personally – I think we’re in the last throws of hearing from our ailing former VP.

The DIPLOMATS Sheek Louch has been in the news as of late,
Regarding his new CD cover showing him in half GORILLA face

JAY Z and Poppy Harlow recently sat down to do an insightful interview
Where Jay explains his position – where he’s from & how he made it through.
His new book may yeild us a bit of a ‘feel good story’ too. Ooo!
Nothing like a positive bind on some HIP HOP truths.

Brittany Griner continues to be diligent in working the basketball courts
But last night Maya Moore & the UCONN ladies BEAT BAYLOR: 65 to 64.

Next Saturday [11/27] the KSU Wildcats will be storming into town
Joe G will be towel rallying in DENTON — where the game is going down.
If you see me in the stands, ‘go ahead and give me a pound’.

Keri Hilson has been in the NEWS – though before today – I didn’t know WHAT FOR,
It seems she’s made a pretty cool video with a strong under toned historical score:

So it’s HUMP DAY already and good ol’ opportunity is knocking again,
I’m Qui
on a brief NEWS PERUSE – ’tis how I relate with my online kin…
Whilst our President stays busy charting a bi-partisanship win
between his multi political party friends…
Will the petty party discord ever end?

You know how I do enjoy doling out digital television views,
So oblige me and enjoy ‘FOX & The BILL‘ in a short News Peruse:

The season premier of GLEE ran tonight
And yes – I was the Gleek’iest chic onsite.

I was jammin’
their version of Jay Z and Alicia Keys’ “NEW YORK” –
Arty continues to roll in as the banging hip hop sport – His capacity isn’t short.

I’d also have to say he did TRAVIE MCCOY more justice than fair
when he rolled out the rapping hook to the joint “BILLIONAIRE”.

Sunshine [Charice Pempengco] joined the cast of Glee and “found her own”.
She’s the young asian teen, whose voice sounds ‘soulfully black and grown’.

NEWS out of Atlanta is charging some pretty nasty wrongs
About teen boys being cohersed into sex with Pastor Eddie Long.
What’s really going on?

Time will soon tell…
and arse holes will smell.

More on Real Time’s Bill Maher
Because his LKL interview was on fire:

Bill Maher on President Obama [Democrats & whether people trust the government]

Larry states: A new CNN opinion research poll says 25% say they trust the federal government to do what is right – most of the time. What does that say Bill? “It says more people are trusting than should be. Considering what our government has done lately – but on the other hand the Democrats who have had a pretty successful legislative season don’t get credit for it. Because it hasn’t reached people yet – I mean, the big one is HEALTHCARE and as soon as it passed Obama went up in the poles because ‘people love a winner’ Larry. If Tiger Woods had come back and won The Masters he could have murdered those women. But you know it kind of faded because the benefits of the program haven’t been felt yet. And there was a report out today that said it really isn’t going to pay for itself“.

Larry inputs: But the car companies paid back their loans and they’re selling cars and so on… “Right and they also passed FINANCIAL REFORM and they eliminated the banks as the middle man for student loans, (which was long over due). The Democrats are very bad at selling their own product; The Republicans are genius’ at it and I’ve said it before” says Bill, “A bad product well apologized for — is superior in this country to a good product. The Democrats do have a better product as bad as they are. Now it’s unfortunate that they couldn’t have sold what they’re selling better and have better policies.

Afghanistan was a glaring error, I think. First of all Obama just should have had a different policy from the get go. He’s tied to it now, because he ran on it. He should have ran on a policy that said, ‘The Army is the wrong tool to use to fight terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thank you – goodnight’. But now he’s tied to this dumb policy where we’re supposedly committed full force until like 8 months later, when we advertise that we’re pulling all of our troops out. I mean the Taliban have outlasted people for decades and centuries“.

Larry asks: Well how do you defeat terrorism? “You don’t“, Bill says, “That’s the key Larry, you don’t defeat it. You have to understand it’s always with us. It’s like saying how do you defeat crime? You can’t defeat crime“… Larry interjects Violent crime is down in America. “Down. Right and we’ve had terrorism go down. By the way Obama has been president for 20 months and there has not been an attack. Bush was president for 9 months when we got hit. So on that score – Obama’s kept us safer.”

But you’re saying there’ll always be terrorism? asks Larry. “ Of course. Especially when we do things like invade Muslim countries“. Should we not have called it a war on terrorism? says Larry, Because there will not be a victory day? Bill concurs, “ Exactly. We should not have called it a war on terrorism. There will not be a victory day. Exactly. And you know this war in Afghanistan— I never read a good thing about it. The longer we’re there the stronger the Taliban gets. I mean I read bad things about the government of Karzai, I read bad things about the Afghan Army, about the Afghan Police, I read bad things about our soldiers. Of course they’re put in an impossible situation and they’re doing the best they can – they’re very brave but 5 of them are now up for murder charges. I read horrible things about what ordinary people in that country do. They stoned a woman a couple of weeks ago for eloping. For the crime of eloping and this wasn’t just the Taliban. The whole village came out – even her own relatives. That’s got a hurt — a rock comes and it’s from your mom”.

Larry asks about Pakistan. How do we deal with them? “Well we’re not dealing with them“. Bill responds in a discerning voice, “What – you mean because they’re a Muslim country with nuclear weapons? Well that happens while we were trying to get the nuclear weapons that weren’t in Iraq out of Iraq. I think that genie is out of the bottle.

The same thing with Iran – you know we’re obsessed with Iran getting nuclear weapons. You know that’s like a father whose obsessed with his daughter losing her virginity. It’s going to happen. It’s going to happen and you’re going to have to live in a world where it does happen. To give a little perspective I was watching “Day After Tomorrow” [1983] – Do you remember that? It was a huge sensation at the time because we were in a cold war. It was about what would happen if the United States and the Soviet Union wiped each other off. It was chilling because – ofcourse in that era when a nuclear exchange took place it was between two super powers who emptied their arsenal and wiped out the world. We’re not living in that world anymore. Things are actually better. Could a terrorist get a nuke into the port of Los Angeles? Absolutely, but it would probably be just one bomb. As awful as that is. It’s not as bad as when two super powers were facing each other with arsenals”.

Stay tuned for Larry and Bills latest interview conclude,
I’m Qui
bidding you a Happy Hump Day and “Don’t be a Sue“. lol!
Oui!!! to GLEE!!! 🙂

Has Rap taken a Wrap

In Music, Networking on January 27, 2010 at 8:31 am

Let’s CHANGE THE BEAT for a minute and talk about black music, Hip Hop in particular. Is it even still considered black music with such inductees like Eminem and a plethora of other white boys that go hard in their hood? Hip Hop belongs to no race of people today – it’s fair game. But the birth of its roots are as black as they come. NY birthed something beautiful and Fab5Freddy was there. It was then that he laced Blondie with those now famous words: “Fab5Freddy told me everybody’s fly…” in her Rapture video on MTV. Remember that? Fab continues to maneuver behind the scenes producing and directing music videos, co-producing and exec-producing films/documentaries and of course riding at the helms of the VH1 Annual Hip Hop Honor Shows that air in October. Last year was a big hit – if you missed it, peep some of the memorable 2009 highlights below::

It was good. But where are we (in terms of growth) in rap today? A lot of the beats are nice but what about the words? Where have the words gone? What are we saying? I don’t know what 1-hit wonders rule your local airwaves, but there’s a song that rhythmically (beat banging) hits the spot and gets all of the air playtime, I don’t know the songs title, but the chorus phrase is as follows:

“He’s got a big… and knows how to use it. Bone!”

And the message behind it is? Well I think you get it. I’m too young to be railroaded into listening to TALK RADIO all of the time in my car. A girl (like myself) likes to bounce around at a stop light or two to the local FM hip hop stations, but it’s just not happening. The last time I danced in my car, at the light, had to have been 2 summers ago. As of recent, you can find me in my car silent, (listening to NPR Radio) or waving my mock-maestro hand to the classical concertos that feed their segway changes. It just isn’t right. I was raised on hip hop and I thought it would never stop. Now I’m praying that the current rap slop on the radio will be arrested. I love Lil’ Wayne, but he ain’t talking about nothing neither is Nikki Menaj. Drake is okay, but he’s not quite a rapper. Now there is a hip hop guy that I have been feeling as of late, but he’s not on the local airways – he’s mostly online. I met him on Twitter through one of FabNewYorks Re-Twits [RT], his name is JASIRIX and today he nearly stands alone in his fresh approach to being socially and economically aware in his rap messages & videos. There are staple legends in the rap game that are known for doing “exactly that”, like KRS-One, Talib Kweli, Most Def, Common – but naturally, they get next to NO AIRTIME on local radio stations. Perhaps it’s because their lyrics make you think too deeply. What do you think? Are you thinking?

Which rap artist are flooding your local radio stations and what are their moral messages on a whole? Are LL Cool J, Jay-Z & Ice Cube out of sound messages? Does a banging beat really need raggedy lyrics? Lately I’ve opted for the instrumentals. They provide me the jam I want to jerk my body too and because there’s no auto tune vocals atop of it, I am able to think my own thoughts or even freestyle aloud with no artist interruption. What’s rap without the rap artist? A hip hop instrumental track. Soooo Has Rap taken a Wrap? Is it possible to revise the legendary format and chart a literal come back?

I’m Qui
‘Definitely looking forward to that.
