The C-word

In Communication, fitness, Griot, Networking, Self Improvement, Travel, Video, weightloss on September 20, 2017 at 8:30 am

letter-cGood morning sweetheart, my griot remains blunt
thus I want to talk to you about an abbreviation bunt.

When taking a hit in the stress department and harboring painful feelings
— it can yield a hardness to your organs that will need ONCOLOGY healing.

goofy-laughThe C-Word is short for cancer. That’s the intended abbreviated bunt.
With the kids reading I wouldn’t be Rated-R seeding and use The C-Word: CRUNCH,

I mean really. Don’t be silly. Aunt Qui is not that risky of a chancer.
Though it’s true we’re holding unnecessary stresses that turn into cancer.

The key to properly placing stress does not rest in your wrists;
when expressing ‘Why you’re down,’ you respond, ‘He or she – did this.’

That’s a sort of a bunt, but more of a miss –because it’s simply not true.
Though not knowing how to cope with stress means old feelings are harbored by You.

You grit your teeth and seethe. You do it day after day.
You live with the pain and hurtful stains of a strained yesterday.

It’s in your gut. It’s real on your plate.
Misplaced emotions can turn into hate.

Hate that you never voiced, but accepted as ‘all good.’
After all, the hate that you feel comes from your familial hood.

Well, harboring pain is never “all good.”
Stress = Cancer. Get it understood.

Avoid The C-Word! Act like ya’ heard. You must, at all costs!
When it comes to your emotions — you, alone are the boss!

My dad died from cancer at 69-years old just 4-months ago
and my 64-year old aunt via The C-Word, went right after him, yo.

The C-Word illness is real.
They befriended stress and then it killed.

Me? I was curious as to, how this is so?
Then I was told I had a blockage. My response, “NO!!!”

One day at Tao yoga, Master Chun did tell me
that a pain in my right side could lead to “The C.”

stress-2-cancer-route

Stress harboring  can yield to cancer in various organs

Who? What? ME!?
That is right,” said she.

I’m a happy-go-lucky spirit. How could it be?
It was yesterdays stresses — misplaced by me.

I did not know.
The harboring was internal and did not show.

I love my friends and family. I am sure I do it best!
So what’s with this misplaced, harboring of stress?

Well, it was stressful situations from long ago that I thought I’d forgotten about.
Sad emotions hunkered down into my organs and took up storage — to build a cancer route.

But it did not happen.
Tao Master Chun began tappin’

on the sore spot that she had pointed out on my right.
Then she educated me about stresses, cancer and life.

Today, several weeks later – I’m actually feeling alright.
My body is limber and loose and no “hardening of nothing” is in sight.

It took more than education and body tapping, but not much more.
I meditated and converted Stress to Strength via a Sedona Retreat score!

It helped me out a whole bunch!
The C-Word is real, but posed no life crunch!

Today I am not akin to holding stresses, my organs are softening – I’m making it through.
But because life is full of stress I thought it best to share my findings with you.

Because if your abdomen is hard, and you don’t have a six pack
and you’re a tad stressed out, perhaps even feeling fat
but not eating a lot – just stressed out to the max.
I’m gonna ask you to meditate and get ready to bat!

Bunt that away from you. Stress is not yours to keep.

Good morning baby, I’m a word lover – like no other, touching on The C.

Let’s talk Tao, Towel and Chakra’s

In Communication, fitness, Griot, Self Improvement on June 12, 2017 at 5:04 am

no-coincidence.jpgThe first two words have nothing in common besides the fact that saying “towel” while softening the sound of the “w” and omitting the sound of the “l,” helps me to properly pronounce the word: TAO.

Did you know that? Give a it spin. Say the word “towel” and soften the “w” while omitting the “l” and you are well on your way to learning a little more about the practice of Tao having just mastered the phonetics.

If you recall, I was channeling Big Sean and “The Bounce Back” a few weeks ago after my dad crossed over. My fathers end journey was an expectant one, still I wasn’t completely ready.  At the cresting of my emotions I stumbled into a TAO master.  The meeting was not planned and dare I say, still, it was by no mistake.

no-coincidence2.jpegI don’t believe in coincidences.

7-days before my dad left, I was taking what I considered a random walk to clear my head. I could tell that my fathers condition was worsening. He was no longer mind strong. As I approached the outskirts of a shopping center near my home I saw a car pull up and a little Asian woman got out and proceeded to walk to the entrance of a business in the shopping center. We made eye contact. I said, “Hello as she crossed the sidewalk in front me, she responded in kind, leaned towards the door as to open it, but instead retrieved a brochure from the exterior of the door and then turned and handed it to me saying, “Your first class is free.” I smiled and said, “Thank you,” and proceeded to walk.

Curious a few days later I stopped by to read the various sign posters at their store front and saw a CHAKRA reading service that was provided therein. I made an appointment to have my chakra read a few days after my dads passing – though my appointment wouldn’t mature until after his home-going memorial. It was a whole 7-days away, I was seriously anxious, however, I waited out the days and promptly made the appointment.

My reason for wanting to have my chakra read? Well, I had no idea what a chakra was, really, but I  do have an awesome masseuse that I’ve been with for more than 2-years. She is a deep tissue, myofascial masseuse and it’s not uncommon for me to see colors during  our 90-minute massage sessions. The color I see most often is GREEN. A very vibrant green, so I was eager to see if the reading associated me with the color and what it exactly meant. I mentioned my experiences to my masseuse and she asked me if I knew anything about chakra’s? It was then my journey began…

The chakra reading that I received was provided by Chun, the shops owner. The method in which she read my chakra was via a machine that had a place for me to lie the palms of my hands on:

chakra-reading-machine.jpg

Remember the color green that I mentioned I usually see during my massages? Well green showed up in the spades on the computer monitor that was hooked up to the machine. This was the reading. So what does GREEN mean or represent where the chakra is concerned?

chakra-anatamy.jpg

According to the chakra flow chart (above), my reading was color confirmation. I am indeed dealing with matters of the heart, starring love and grief. Chun furthermore informed me that my 2nd and 3rd chakras are congested. I’m not having optimum energetic flow throughout my body. I had a feeling that this was the case. I may not know much about Tao healing or chakras and the likes, but I can definitely tell that I am energetically all-over-the-place right now and may need some balancing and even a little (or a lot) of positive reinforcement.

I gain reinforcement via knowledge, so you can bet your sweet bottom I’ve picked up a few books and am reading with intent. Intent to utilize the knowledge I reap to realign my energy flow for optimal performance from the inside out. Tao speaks to your body and opens up communication to your brain. I think of the classes that I’ve participated in so far, they have served as an emotional and physical channel clearance.

expanded-consciousness-no-coincidence.jpgI’m finding my body and mind are getting quite the workout as I engage in strengthening my energetic connection to my core. It’s easy to do, if you know how to do it and have the time to work on it – daily.  At current – I do. I am focused and actively participating. The mental workout, alone produces enough perspiration to utilize a “towel”, but the balance of the workout usually implements a move that will release any tension that you may have felt in the previous move.  These emotional and energy workouts are yielding me substantial physical benefits, starting with mind clarity.

Inhale through your nose. Exhale through the lips.

I’m on the start to something good, a colorful path of good flowing energy.

Hello Tao. It’s so good to meet you.

I’m no Tao master, I’ve only had a few classes,
Though I can tell, early on, this is surely for the masses.

The mental and physical benefits that I have yielded from participation
Speaks volumes to my spirit, mind and body – in progressive relation.

Meditation? We all need it. We should concentrate on our own paths.
I’m getting in touch with my DAHN JON, it’s located south of the abs.

A deep breath into my depths will retrieve the coolness that I need
To temper down any anxieties, without yielding to pharmaceutical heeds.

And Ouiiiii! I’m off to having a much calmer day, participating in cooler verbs.
Tao and towel are nouns filled with vowels though the color of my chakra is WORD.

Are you taking care of yourself? Are you utilizing self preservation?

Much into me; speaking to my body, mind and spirit – in healing relation.

Ain’t nothing wrong with a little meditation.

No Week End here

In Book, Communication, Griot, Networking, News, Self Improvement on March 19, 2017 at 7:18 am

no-weekend.jpgThere’s No Week End here, by any measure.
To work at being strong is absolutely my pleasure.

The last book that I read was a biography and it was depth-rich and information sweet.
It was on Michelle Obama, her family, her Moma…and it added strength to me.

That was Friday.
I woke up to the read; a high day.

The read set off a chain of reactions and awoke desires of stifled fires that I’d forgotten about.
So for the last 3-days I’ve been on “the creative raise” knocking incompleted work out!

There was so much to do sitting on the back burner.
What I didn’t know I read up on- I’m a real quick learner!

And so the Week has had No End for me and I remain merry.
Amidst the upload of good to my soul we lost Chuck Berry.

But don’t worry, before completing the dash ” – ” he made a fine mark.
He rolled right in and rocked folks in and out of sin, still all who knew him ‘fell for’ his heart.

He obviously lived a tad bit smart. If you question – bless your hiney.
Chuck was born in 1926 and crossed over at age 90.

Eventually the human body gets weak, gravity is a “hold-you-down” kin.
Still I rise like Maya Angelou and the skies;  I’ve yielded No Week End.
🤗

Today is a new day and per my usual, I started the day in meditation.
I hope you did what you know to do to keep mental clarity in your relation.

GOT TO —  and as often as possible these days.
Days that I forgo “the meditate” I still kneel to pray.

Pray?
Everyday.

It helps me to feel A-Ok. Never mind prescription anxiety meds,

dope-bday-qui-2016What is it?
Is it a feeling, is it a drug?
Is it addictable, like my )))HUGS(((?

These shoulders shrug, I think it’s an emotion.
I feel dope when I meditate; when I give praise in devotion.

I feel dope when you feel me. I love to connect.
Sometimes dope is vindication after being unjustly vexed.

Dope is your DNA. Look at your hair, skin and nails.
Stay healthy, be fit, shoot “antagony” to hell.

Dope is that good feeling, you want to inhale
when the Doc comes back and says your diagnostic is swell.

I’m on a HIGH. I stay high. I live for the life of it — with no choke.
I’m unlimited in my charted quests; I don’t scare easy. It’s DOPE to VOTE!

There’s always hope in my mind and there’s always room to grow.
Dope is ditching negativity and sticking with those who meet your lobes.

This method is effective MORE than the strongest smoke.
I dig the “intellectual relate” – I give and receive; No choke.

I don’t cough either– I say what I mean,

and this is a HIGH DAY for me. DOPE is all about me.

This MONDAY

In Communication, Griot, Self Improvement on October 13, 2014 at 12:49 pm

This MondayI am insistent on pushing through with todays affirmations,
connecting with others and yielding confirmations,
doing good, because ‘you really only get as good as you give,’
then I’m going to stop and smell the roses. Life’s (often) too quickly lived.

I do love a Monday afternoon and todays showcase is ray yielding.
I do love to spread good vibes, much like the ones that I am feeling.

If you are in a profession that’s got you sweating bullets over brow,
I suggest you give it some thought. It may not be your bag, anyhow.

I know that I am blessed to wake up, revving to go!
The world is a stage and I’m in the show.

Meditation was an absolutely great way
to start off This beautiful Monday.

To sit in silence, think and give thanks
for everyone in your life and every dollar in the bank.

To sit and reflect on all good intent;
giving thanks to God, for the food, mortgage and rent.

Grateful to have life. For the opportunity I am truly blessed.
Then say Amen and join the band of positive pushers who refuse to stress.

This Monday presents opportunity. If you don’t see it – please keep looking!

Russell said DO YOU

In Book, Communication, Griot, Networking, Self Improvement on June 2, 2014 at 5:17 am

Russell Simmons DO YOU 2014

I’ve already finished the book, “DO YOU! 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success,” it’s a great solo read, but in my effort to ‘grow along with you,’ I thought it would be cool if we at least got through the first three chapters together. If nothing less, to render us that, “book club” feel. No – I’m not Oprah, but I am moving into my OWN, so let’s get to it.

Execute knowledge whether or not you went to college.Recap:

Law #1 See your vision and stick with it
Law #2 Always DO YOU

Chapter 3 reads,

LAW #3:  GET YOUR MIND RIGHT!

All the things that truly matter — beauty, love,
creativity, joy, inner peace arise from the mind.

–EKHART TOLLE

Russell Simmons starts the intro of this chapter off by saying, “I don’t belong to any particular religion or sect. But I owe much of my success to finding time for prayer and meditation in my life.”

Page 69] IT SEEMS THAT W H E N E V E R we turn on the TV, listen to the radio, or pick up a magazine, we’re bombarded by the message that our life will improve once we get our bodyin shape. It’s a potent message, witnessed by the millions of people who get up every day and trudge off to the gym, hoping to find happiness through getting their abs flat, their chest bigger, or their butt tighter. And while ti’s fine to get your body in shape, I would suggest that it’s more helpful to get your mind toned first. Remember, your mind is your most powerful muscle. A six-pack on your stomach won’t really make ou happy unless you’re also keeping your mind in shape through prayer, reflection, and self-study. How you look on the outside doesn’t really matter if you don’t have your spiritual self in shape first.

One of the best ways to get your mind in shape is through the practice of meditation. while physical exercise makes you stronger by building things up– like muscle or stamina — the mental workout that you get through meditation makes you stronger by clearing things away. It clears away the distractions of the world and gives you the clarity to see and the focus to pursue the God-given visions that will be the foundation to your success. Building up your body or your bank account will bring you short-time happiness, but you can’t take those things with you on your journey through life. No matter how many weights you lift, eventually your bod will sag. No matter how much money you make, eventually it will lose it’s value and its appeal. But a clear and focused mind will last a lifetime. Getting your mind in shape is nothing less than the key to sustainable success in the world.

Page 72] H E A R I N G THE GOD INSIDE OF YOU
Before I embraced meditation, I used to have a hard time falling asleep because there was so much noise in my head. And by noise I’m not talking about car alarms, policed sirens, or the dog next door barking too loud. No physical noise was keeping me awake. Instead, it was my emotions that wouldn’t let me sleep. It was the noise bouncing around in my own mind that kept me from being at peace.

You might have experienced it yourself. Even though all you want to do is fall asleep, you can’t seem to turn off the conversation s taking place inside of your head. And to make it worse, it’s usually trivial stuff that’s keeping you awake. You’ll replay something someone said to you at work. You’ll worry about whether you locked your car door. You’ll worry about whether your gaining weight. I spent many nights lying awake like that, worrying and stressing over a million different things coming in and out of my mind. Was my new record going to sell? Did I get the right deal for one of my artists? Was that girl I’d been sweating ever going to call me? It was like there was a soundtrack playing in my brain tha tI couldn’t turn off. Those are common examples, but there are also bigger terms that we can use to describe noise. Doubt is noise. Criticism is noise. Insecurity is noise. The past is noise, just like the future is noise too. These are the sounds that slow us down.

Indeed, I eventually realized that all the noise in my head was doing more than just keeping me awake at night. More importantly, it was drawing out the most important voice any of us has, which is the voice of God inside us. The truth is, when you can’t hear God inside of you, you’re always going to struggle in life. there might be stretches when things are going good and you feel like you’re happy. But without that connection to your higher self, that happiness can’t last. Sooner or later that noise will creep back into your mind and you’ll be listening to the world, instead of the God in you.

No LONG STORY SHORT, this book should be read in detail
Sometimes you have to DO YOU and shoot the rest to hell.

I mean it when I say, stay in concentrate and be strong,
the journey is not for the faint, and if you’re lucky – you’ll go long.

“Only the good die young” – Billy Joel said it in a song.
But I didn’t buy into the lyrics; ol’ Billy Joel is wrong.

A Happy Monday

In Communication, Griot, Networking, Self Improvement on November 26, 2012 at 6:43 am

November 26th is a special day for me,
it is the 23rd annual of my first born she.

Her name is Quionja & for her I am blessed.
She was the inspiration for my building a nest.

And so it is Monday, another day of celebration,
in a month that surely holds a lot of parallel relations:

The president was re-elected and then THANKSGIVING came,
This 2012 November is encased in a unified frame.

I am thankful for the sunrise, that has yet to do so in A-Z.
It’s only 6:29 am (now) and the sun won’t rise until 6:43.

I’ll be looking to the sky at the moment of its dawn.
I was up at 4am – tis when I ceased my yawn.

I’m bright eyed and busy tailed, my mind is fixed on the go.
I’ve already done my meditation and had my cup of morning jo.

I even caught a little Creflo Dollar – he comes on promptly at 5.
I absorbed the word of the Lord and am Happy to be alive.

It’s already Monday again as we slide into the later of the month.
And I am without complaint. I’ve been loving life a bunch.

I’ve got bootcamp to tend to at about 9 am sharp.
This fitness kick is beginning to stick & is duly good for my heart.

It’s also toning my thighs, my arms and tightening up my belly.
I will still remain my jovial same, but without the cellulite jelly.

Hey!

Here’s to the sun arising and making this another funday,
I’m Qui
A very thankful she, wishing you a Happy Monday!
