Word of The Day

Yep. I stayed up late last night and woke up early today.
I’m merry, I’m happy and vow to put very little on my plate. 🙂

Hey-ey! It’s true. This is a very merry day indeed.
I’m over here clowning with family — I call them the Beloved WE.

And so you see, I was also thinking about you.
The Cowboys lost yesterday and I’m still silver and blue.
You already knew!
Win or Lose – WE gotta stay true.

That’s why I’m always thinking about you.
Staying true is what I do.

Amidst all of the love, gift giving and play,
I had to dart off and hit you with the Word of The Day:

MERRY CHRISTMAS, to you o’ internet fam. You are always a gift to me,
I’m Qui
Loving on you – is what I do, the knowledge of – is no mystery.
Thanks for stopping by and digging me.

Good Views – News Peruse

As the month of December approaches many are singing a particular song:
“Voting time is nigh – it’s our time to shine!” Let participation be your jones.

And after such an expressive event – let go, enjoy the season and fall in love.
I agree with the prez on something he just said, “[let’s] have a Merry Christmas.”

Happy Holidays is a greeting that encompasses all of the fall/winter calendar events.
Happy Holidays is best for branding if you arrive empty handed – post your money spent. 🤪

Don’t approach the gift exchange talking about “Merry,”
when you know your bills run this ‘thang and your cash has left in a hurry.

It’s okay. We’ve all experienced the “low balance” scurry. It’s a temporary issue.
Thank God the holidays are for good & affectionate displays – so money isn’t an issue.

Right?
I do decree; thus I write.

IJK (I’m just kidding). 🤗 All is said in good fun.
I rarely choke on a pivotal joke used to deliver a good griot yum.

I’m looking forward to a Merry Christmas in less than 1-month away.

Broadway Opening Night Celebration For

Merry Christmas baby, under all pretenses!
Last night the fam and I went out to see FENCES.

This morning I awoke, washed my face and put on clean clothes.
I confess I wear a sophisticated dress; I want to avoid being Rose.

The beloved playwright of last night never received high ratings from Neilson,
but you can bet your bottom dollars, I am all tuned in to Mr. Wilson.

Frederick August Kittel is AUGUST WILSON

AUGUST WILSON wrote the play and it’s been on Broadway many, many times.
Fences if about patching and mendin’ – I knew seeing the film would produce a rhyme.

The director’s vision was on time.
Yesterdays BLACK LIFE – looks like mine.

I’m thinking why and how? – in my mind, because the years have surely passed…
still the feel of the scene (it being a black thing) has survived; outlast.

How could this be? When the film started up in 1946 or so?
It’s the last days of 2016 and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Yo!

If you change the low housing to middle class suburbs —
You’d have been in my backyard or on my neighbors perch.’

Ouch! That hurts: Same economical issues and relationship whoa’s.
All of that stuff we thought over that TIME we had learned from and let go.

Rose’s life said ‘NO. We aren’t passed too much. ‘
August Wilson is that play write of whom I’ve got mad love,

but damn bruh! That was relatively ‘the joint.’
When we exited the theater, I heard a 60’s-something white womans point,

She said, “That was Horrible!!!” when another person asked her for her film review.
I wasn’t sure about her feelings o’ demure – because that’s the world she lived through.

She was surely approaching 70’s door, she lived through Rose’s era; day and time.
The theater was filled with senior citizens looking to re-live ‘some kind of sentimental shine.’

I think they thought, (because of the setting of the play write)
that this was a film would remind them of ‘yesterdays light.’

Mmph. Imagine the somber faces that exited the theater with me.
After ‘Nigger this and Nigger that,’ was expelled by Mr. Washington, D.

fences-lyrical-posterDenzel was phenomenal in the film. Who would think as much,
that he in one script could make me consider recoiling from him – my love. 😀

He was quite convincing as Troy Maxson, he was bogged down with the mundanes of life.
And I, will not be Rose; Viola Davis exceptionally played Troys wife.

Have you seen the film version of the historic and relevant play FENCES?
Don’t go with a faint heart, the weight of yesterday and today may break your winces.

In the end it was a good for everyone to see how it was and realize what’s going on now.
The last thing we need is another fence. For no reason. For no vow.

Yesterday is gone and tomorrow can be whatever you like.
Merry Christmas baby, I fancy #Griot on the mic.

I fancy retelling tales to you in rhyme,
“the going-on’s of the day” — line for line.

And so today is the Sabbath and the last one of this year,
I’m Qui
Merry Christmas to thee! For the annual sum, I bid you prosperity and cheer!

Here-Here!!

Entertainment

In Comedy, Communication, Griot, Self Improvement on December 21, 2015 at 4:23 am

Entertainment. I like it. I need it.
Life can be monotonous; Entertainment – I feed it.

If I encourage you to laugh a little, please believe I heed it.
Life is what you make of it or ‘seed it.’

Entertaining NOT is the news and the headlines that precede me.
Though if it doesn’t invoke wisdom or a smile, please do stop and feed me.

Ooo wee! Today will be a day of random smiles and delights.
Today I will show face more and yield ‘ease up’ to the writes.

Though I do find a bit of excite to sit and sip jo’ with you,
so I’ve gotten up extra early so we’ve this time to do what we do.

It’s Monday baby, and it is poised atop of a week filled with love and good spirits!
Just 4-days from today and we’ll all be knee deep in merry – celebrating Christmas.

stir-fried-greensI’m ready. I’m ready. I’m not a big shopper
and since all of my fam is in Texas, I won’t be a dinner hopper.

Poo! and Oh well, my stir fried greens will have to do.
I’ve got brisket, tamale’s and spiraled ham too.

It don’t stop. I season with reason to pleasure the mouth.
I got that ‘good seasoning hand,’ I was born and fed in the South.

If Entertainment is what it’s about, then sit at my table and do indeed
Grab a plate, put in your face, inhale honey and don’t forget to breath.

Enter into this week with ease and work to wrap up the year in good cheer!
You ain’t got to jam the Nutcracker, but do put something festive in your ear.

Ease up on the egg nog and don’t let the deserts of the upcoming days rule.
Don’t covet whats on your neighbors plate and certainly don’t stare or drool.

Hang a steak in front of the hungry mule and insist that the elliptical machine can facilitate the quest.
Eat light everyday this week, knowing that Christmas dinner is coming and that calories may get wrecked.

Keep yourself in check and choose either the fat filled food or the beer.
Don’t indulge in both child, soon we’ll be celebrating the new year.

You know you want to look right. It’s just how you roll.
While you’re entertaining and being entertained – steer clear of the buffet troll.

Let your heart be on swoll and pray your waistline doesn’t binge/vent.
Do dance a lot, because cardio is hot. Heck blame it on Entertainment.

sweet-potato-pieDo belt out a laugh but don’t bust a gut having a good time every day his week,

Merry Christmas

I’m sending out positive wishes to everyone with life:
Democrat, Republicans, and Independents alike.

The reason for the season is the biggest lesson at hand.
Merry Christmas to every man through out this massive land.

No gift is as big as the real reason we celebrate;
and the real reason we celebrate is: Jesus’ birthday.

I know Jehova Witnesses aren’t into it and other religions shun away,
but you don’t have to be a gift giver on this sentimental holiday.

You don’t have to spend any money, or even put lights on the crib.
Feel free to celebrate the day if you believe that GOODNESS still lives.

I’m grateful that unemployment benefits have been extended,
And pray that the days without jobs — is soon to be ended.

It’s not all about money, or cashing in on your wish list,
I’m Qui
Celebrating The GOOD in LIFE and wishing you a MERRY CHRISTMAS.
