Yes, I’m always up for a good laugh
however, today I almost ran out of gas.

Not out of gas in the vehicle but out of energy in my tank.
I’m grateful to God that we’re cool, though Murphy’s Law is to thank.

Today I hoped to hop a flight from this Bore-Folk, Virginia scene
back into Phoenix, Arizona — to a “homier me,”

but that didn’t happen.
No SOUTHWEST bird was flappin’

and me and my crew are duly stuck.
We didn’t get the news until we turned in the rental truck.

Seems our pending layover in Chi-Town was overrun with snow,
and there ain’t no flight out of Norfolk for us — no ‘mo.

Oh no!
Ergo,
I do love Surprises!

I’m good. We have tomorrow or the next day to journey again,

Always up for a good laugh, because Murphy in VA is my friend.

VH1 Hip Hop Honors Awards went HARD

In Griot, Music, TV Shows on June 7, 2010 at 10:35 pm

The 2010 VH1 Hip Hop Honors Awards Show

This years broadcast was OUTSTANDING and was a 2 hour show
For the first time in a long time I prayed that time would pass slow.

The span of land distance and variety that was covered
Reminded me of why I’m a Southern Music Lover!

Tonight I was one jamming mother & enjoyed every state and its voice;
To give it up uninhibitedly (without censorship) has always been my choice.

Much like Uncle Luke of 2 LIVE CREW
Did you hear what he told the TEA PARTIERS to do?
Ooooo!

[hint: He extended to FREE SPEECH HATERS: An offer to kiss his arse]
Yes sir – Yes ma’am…the Hip Hop Honors broadcast went hard.

Didn’t you love BIG MAN Jermaine Dupree and how the ATL REPPED?
Last years show was strong but this year has got to be among THE BEST!

Organized Noise’s song performers really got down —
I enjoyed the white dude w/the black socks whose skills rocked & “the dance moves” of Sleepy Brown.

I enjoyed Bun B reppin’ the “Lone T” and Mr. Paul Wall too.
I was also entertained by Lil’ Jon “hype man’ing” like he do.

What most excited me was the informative interviews
That served as a great foundation; an educational hue.

J. Prince is a man that I’ve long known could hit the spot
He’s the brain child behind the joints we’ve jammed to through RAP-A-LOT.

Bow Wow Represented — his performing skills were definitely in the house–
Though the party really picked up when we dropped in on VA’s “South”.

Timbaland represented and Missy held it down
Reiterating their position in Hip Hop hailing “the VA crown”.

Pitt Bull flavorfully repped Florida and Trina deliciously thickened the scene
The outfit she wore was leotard short but she kept the performance clean.
The entire production was mean.

Please tell me you saw it? Do tell me you tuned in,

VH1 HIP HOP HONORS ‘key-in’ on The SOUTH

In Griot, Music, News on March 20, 2010 at 1:57 pm

VH1 2010 Focus
Straight from the mouth of Fab5Freddy: “The 2010 VH1 Hip Hop Honors is focusing in on the South this year” and instead of airing in October (as they have years before), the PARTY will POP OFF in JUNE! “Get out!” I said, while i-chatting in TX with the Legendary Hip Hop Statesman broadcasting from his NY home.

Don’t you just love technology? You gotta’ love it, especially when the feed you’re taking in is dropping mad information about this years VH1 Hip Hop Honors honoring The Geto Boyz, Slim Thug, Bun B, and on and on and on… It looks like the ATL will be represented, as will the boot (Louisiana), Florida, and the VA. Yep! Timbalands contributions run deep. Whenever I think Hot VA Hip Hop Producers: Timbaland, Magoo & Missy are among staple thoughts. Amen? I’m anxious already – it’s going down in JUNE. The count down is on! Stay Tuned…

VH1 Hip Hop Honors will be focusing in on the south
What an interesting choice – during this musical drought.

When I first heard the news, I shreaked where I sat.
Because I’ve heard no new music in my southern hood to warrant that.

But when the Hip Hop Statesman clarified, they’re going back to the start
And focusing on the foundation of the southern rap movement – @ heart,

I began to relax easy and let Fab continue to paint the view
that looked alot like focusing on key figures — who are well past thier due.

Oo-Oo-Ooo The Geto Boyz ain’t new & ain’t cut a track in 2 decades
But it’s never to late, (while breaths in your face) to be awarded the honorable accolade.

Hey-eeey! I’m diggin’ it – I’m diggin’ it. Last years broadcast was a HIT!
What an honor it is, to have geographical dibs in the Hip Hop Honors gig.

My wig is happy! Good information and technology highlighted the score,
