Dancing Through

IMG_4874.PNGHappy New Year dear beloved. Another start is at hand and with so much opportunity to share.
I brought it in with BELVEDERE & friends at The Copacabana in Times Square.

I’m not much of a drinker but the pricey admission included an open bar.
A few extra bucks and good luck – had them treating me like a star.

No line! The venue’s line was down the block.
My crew and I just walked in, all green lights – no stop.

New York truly Rocks!
To return again — I’ll never stop.

2016 went out with a bang
Excitement was key and Qui is my name.

It just went together,it all made sense and I gave myself to it.
After one glass of vodka and cranberry juice – I couldn’t do it.

Have another one– that is. I’m just not a drinker.
Thank God that I’m not, because by the nights end, I was the only #Thinker.

By the night’s end, I had palmed 3 glasses of Cape Cod
You don’t have to drink a glass to hold a glass. I just smiled and gave head-nods.

I danced for 4-hours the mood was never sour and we all had great time.
I met the coolest couple in VIP that elevated my experience to Cloud9.

Vanessa and Zack are from Australia and they paid for a wall’less sky booth
and then offered us to kick it with them in their space — on just being cool.

The Copacabana sky view with Zack and Vanessa

Zack, a handsome gent with accent and awesome great blonde hair
let not a moment pass that he was whispering compliments to me of his girl so fair.

Vanessa was his dame with the big smile and bigger heart –
The idea was hers that we join them at our VIP start.

To me- It came out of nowhere.
But good people are everywhere
especially in Times Square!!

Zack and Vanessa are from down under though last night they felt like kin.
Should I ever visit Australia, I’ll be sure to drop in on my new friends.

I burned major calories. So much so my FITBIT experienced a data freeze.

Zack & Qui clowning PROPERLY

My lungs had no time to wheeze. Dancing is like walking to me.

Times Square did not disappoint. Heck NEW YORK never does.
I always arrive feeling alive then submerge myself in the love.

I love this place and day one of 2017 has unfolded in style,
I’m Qui
On Malcolm X Blvd. having a blast and living a little wild.

Last night was the most awesome. Ooo child.
Happy New Year, less frowns more smiles.

Viva La France!

puttin-on-the-ritzSometimes life hands you rays of sunshine and today is one.
Paris caught the culprit and the terror invoked us to love.

Who’d have thought? When their intentions were to serve up divisiveness and hate?
The mere fact that NATIONS are focusing on “terroristic acts” ensures the terrors, one fate.

So many nations up their whoozah and in their face — no glory for any side to boast or floss.
Though the point “Screw with us & we’ll ‘disable your joints‘, seems to be the general cost.

France found the culprit and they did more than give him a disability jolt.
They took their terror to Abaaoud’s door, shot him and then his cousin blew a hole in the flo.’

Sharp shooters took him out from far away just as police were busting in.
The cousin strapped with a suicide vest and an automatic clip — began to start up her end.

She fired off a few rounds and a female French police officer went down.
Then Abaaoud’s cousin blew herself up, because she knew the law was finna’ clown.

UPDATE! UPDATE! THIS JUST IN:
The female cousin may not have been the bomber, just his kin.

The story is still evolving and your girl Qui is watching updates.
The Parisian law will evaluate the cost and piece together events of yesterday.

And they are. No resident – dead or alive – will be hid.
Parisian tally: 2 terrorists meet their eternal exit. Life: rid.

8 others were rounded up. I reckon they were found in the rubble.
So what did we learn? Yes, fire does burn and “cutting up” isn’t worth the trouble.

Now, if you’re blue
And you don’t know where to go to
Why don’t you go where fashion sits
Puttin’ on the Ritz

That goes double for Paris and be sure to have your “good behavior hat” on.
Live happy and safe and sing the words of the ritzy song.

But if anyone should find themselves, at any point, wanting to do something different —
“thoughts of terroristic acts to commit” – is not what you want to simmer and sit in.

I suggest the “fake it -’til you make it‘ grin. Do whatever you need to do
to make it through, to live a good long life and reap a long and sweet adieu.
Ooo.

Live in the “make peace”  lane or don’t even come to Washington, DC or New York.

Taking a lesson from Paris? Oui! Resist terrorizing and maintain a beating heart.

Stay tuned to the terror attacks that are currently going on in Mali too.
Regardless of what others are doing, PRAY for them and yearn not to ‘do what they do.’

PS..Recently I saw a movie trailor of which the name I am reclined,
Victor Frankenstein is COMING; thus this jam was on my mind.

News Peruse

You know how I do enjoy doling out digital television views,
So oblige me and enjoy ‘FOX & The BILL‘ in a short News Peruse:

The season premier of GLEE ran tonight
And yes – I was the Gleek’iest chic onsite.

I was jammin’
their version of Jay Z and Alicia Keys’ “NEW YORK” –
Arty continues to roll in as the banging hip hop sport – His capacity isn’t short.

I’d also have to say he did TRAVIE MCCOY more justice than fair
when he rolled out the rapping hook to the joint “BILLIONAIRE”.

Sunshine [Charice Pempengco] joined the cast of Glee and “found her own”.
She’s the young asian teen, whose voice sounds ‘soulfully black and grown’.

NEWS out of Atlanta is charging some pretty nasty wrongs
About teen boys being cohersed into sex with Pastor Eddie Long.
What’s really going on?

Time will soon tell…
and arse holes will smell.

More on Real Time’s Bill Maher
Because his LKL interview was on fire:

Bill Maher on President Obama [Democrats & whether people trust the government]

Larry states: A new CNN opinion research poll says 25% say they trust the federal government to do what is right – most of the time. What does that say Bill? “It says more people are trusting than should be. Considering what our government has done lately – but on the other hand the Democrats who have had a pretty successful legislative season don’t get credit for it. Because it hasn’t reached people yet – I mean, the big one is HEALTHCARE and as soon as it passed Obama went up in the poles because ‘people love a winner’ Larry. If Tiger Woods had come back and won The Masters he could have murdered those women. But you know it kind of faded because the benefits of the program haven’t been felt yet. And there was a report out today that said it really isn’t going to pay for itself“.

Larry inputs: But the car companies paid back their loans and they’re selling cars and so on… “Right and they also passed FINANCIAL REFORM and they eliminated the banks as the middle man for student loans, (which was long over due). The Democrats are very bad at selling their own product; The Republicans are genius’ at it and I’ve said it before” says Bill, “A bad product well apologized for — is superior in this country to a good product. The Democrats do have a better product as bad as they are. Now it’s unfortunate that they couldn’t have sold what they’re selling better and have better policies.

Afghanistan was a glaring error, I think. First of all Obama just should have had a different policy from the get go. He’s tied to it now, because he ran on it. He should have ran on a policy that said, ‘The Army is the wrong tool to use to fight terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thank you – goodnight’. But now he’s tied to this dumb policy where we’re supposedly committed full force until like 8 months later, when we advertise that we’re pulling all of our troops out. I mean the Taliban have outlasted people for decades and centuries“.

Larry asks: Well how do you defeat terrorism? “You don’t“, Bill says, “That’s the key Larry, you don’t defeat it. You have to understand it’s always with us. It’s like saying how do you defeat crime? You can’t defeat crime“… Larry interjects Violent crime is down in America. “Down. Right and we’ve had terrorism go down. By the way Obama has been president for 20 months and there has not been an attack. Bush was president for 9 months when we got hit. So on that score – Obama’s kept us safer.”

But you’re saying there’ll always be terrorism? asks Larry. “ Of course. Especially when we do things like invade Muslim countries“. Should we not have called it a war on terrorism? says Larry, Because there will not be a victory day? Bill concurs, “ Exactly. We should not have called it a war on terrorism. There will not be a victory day. Exactly. And you know this war in Afghanistan— I never read a good thing about it. The longer we’re there the stronger the Taliban gets. I mean I read bad things about the government of Karzai, I read bad things about the Afghan Army, about the Afghan Police, I read bad things about our soldiers. Of course they’re put in an impossible situation and they’re doing the best they can – they’re very brave but 5 of them are now up for murder charges. I read horrible things about what ordinary people in that country do. They stoned a woman a couple of weeks ago for eloping. For the crime of eloping and this wasn’t just the Taliban. The whole village came out – even her own relatives. That’s got a hurt — a rock comes and it’s from your mom”.

Larry asks about Pakistan. How do we deal with them? “Well we’re not dealing with them“. Bill responds in a discerning voice, “What – you mean because they’re a Muslim country with nuclear weapons? Well that happens while we were trying to get the nuclear weapons that weren’t in Iraq out of Iraq. I think that genie is out of the bottle.

The same thing with Iran – you know we’re obsessed with Iran getting nuclear weapons. You know that’s like a father whose obsessed with his daughter losing her virginity. It’s going to happen. It’s going to happen and you’re going to have to live in a world where it does happen. To give a little perspective I was watching “Day After Tomorrow” [1983] – Do you remember that? It was a huge sensation at the time because we were in a cold war. It was about what would happen if the United States and the Soviet Union wiped each other off. It was chilling because – ofcourse in that era when a nuclear exchange took place it was between two super powers who emptied their arsenal and wiped out the world. We’re not living in that world anymore. Things are actually better. Could a terrorist get a nuke into the port of Los Angeles? Absolutely, but it would probably be just one bomb. As awful as that is. It’s not as bad as when two super powers were facing each other with arsenals”.

Stay tuned for Larry and Bills latest interview conclude,
I’m Qui
bidding you a Happy Hump Day and “Don’t be a Sue“. lol!
Oui!!! to GLEE!!! 🙂
