Feeling POWER

In Communication, Griot, News, Self Improvement, TV Shows, Video on February 3, 2020 at 6:43 am

I’ve got a feeling that today is going to be tops!
I also enjoyed Cedric The Entertainer on POWER as Pops.

Well, I didn’t expect to blurt it out like that,
but once I caught up on POWER I was lain flat

as to #WhoShotGhost.
My mind has been worked to and fro

until we came to the end of episode 14
where Jamie’s nightmare seems to be shaping-up as Tariq’s dream.

Did you feel something in the pit of your gut
saying, “My God, do you hate yourself that much?

That’s a question for Tariq and those who agree
that his anger should billow and rage like the sea.

But to what end?
Ghosts DNA resides within.

So will Tariq hate himself too?
If he is the reaper – heartbreak is TRUTH.

At current we don’t know much, but we do know fate —
and it is rising up via the storyline of Congressman Tate.

lahmard-lorenz-tate.jpgI enjoyed seeing Tate work with his biological big bro.
Sandwiched between Lorenz and Lahmard is the way to go,

says the femme viewer with the giving smile.
There’s no sleep on the last leg of the POWER mile.

You know, I hate to see it go.
I kind of wish it was like that FRIENDS show.

Remember how long they went on?
I believe it closed when their grandkids were grown.

Oh, I’m kidding.
But when the getting is good – we keep giving.

Did you feel that Tommy made the right move?
I think he saw the killer before cutting a new groove

in his inherited purple muscle machine.
Ghost left it for Tommy to exit the scene.

Stage right.
Episode 14 was alright.

I’m a girl of numbers; I’m a girl about letters and scenes.
To know me well, I like increments of 5; esp. the number 15.

The last episode of POWER is slated to air on Feb. 9th; next week.
I’m sad to see it end with all of my friends – this series is an emotional beast.

A common and dysfunctional release was emitted at every broadcast.
Still the people connected to it and 6 seasons went fast.

The good news is that each cast member is free now to commit to other projects.
I first knew of Omari Hardwick as Shavoo on a Comedy/Drama set.

Good times. I shant forget:

and

There’s power in not being typecast for too long.
Omari H. is easy on the eyes and his diversity is strong.

Make me laugh. Make me cry. Invoke me to feel fresh and sour?
Well that is indeed the science of cinematic power

and STARZ has the gauntlet, but not for much longer,
I’m Qui
Good morning Day 1. I reserve the write to compose stronger.

PS –  I just want to include a shout out to the lead actor on GOD FRIENDED ME.
He played Cedric’s son last night; a friend to crime until it became his enemy.

The 1st POWER Hour

In Communication, Griot, Networking, Self Improvement, TV Shows on August 26, 2019 at 11:43 am

Last night was Day 1 of STARZ’s finale season of POWER starring Omari Hardwick,
and Poncho got smoked because Tommy ain’t no ‘witch.

You get it — what I’m saying, but did you see it?
It was 9 scenes after Tommy and Ghost’s beef/riff.

LaLa was pleasantly curvaceous and strapped in her scenes.
Her son, Cash has grown up; he curses now – and everything…

Agent Saxe is running around thinking that Ghost killed AUSA Angela Valdez.
Tommy put one in her chest while trying to put one in Ghost’s head.

You read what I said. It happened on POWER.
I sat on the edge of my seat for the entire Hour.

32-minutes in and Tommy pulls a gun on Poncho
because he said Tommy “ain’t shit without Ghost.”
Woah.

Poncho got smoked.
The 1st POWER Hour wasn’t no joke.

Let Poncho be a lesson to the lot of us
that the rest of the finale season of POWER may be ruthless and rough.

The creative writers of this narrative series have guts. I’m watching and nail-biting.
Still, I stay tuned because the power of the write is stimuli/exciting.

Proctor showed up on the scene just to get inside of Federal crosshairs.
Tasha told Ghost that she wants a divorce; she’s done with being a pair.

AUSA Angela Valdez and her sister.

Angela Valdez’s sister gave Ghost a piece of her mind.
He offered to pay for her funeral and the gesture was met ‘unkind.

Angela’s sister is now working with Agent Saxe
in a move to avenge Angela; to get Ghost back.

Tasha kept calling Terry Silver’s cell phone with certain thoughts in her head
like this is the only way to hear his voice– her gut feeling says “he’s dead.”

And I think that her gut right.
LaKeisha threw a gun into the bay in the middle of the night.
See what I mean about “written delights?”
She was fulfilling Tommy’s request; helping to protect his life.

He killed Angela with that gun.
Yes! The 1st POWER Hour was so much fun.

10-minutes to the 60-minute mark and Ghosts sits in a parked SUV loading another firearm.
A great deal of ART IMITATING LIFE is seen in this episode; a reflection of peril and alarm.

Tarik found a noir way to connect with Ghost over the phone
channeling his own pain of loss since Kanan’s gone.

Perhaps it was all “theatrics.” Crazy stuff.
Such a POWERful ride is bound to be rough.

Popping collars and pulling cuffs – I’m glad that this season is alive and well,
I’m Qui
Tommy and Jason saw the bullets Ghost’s unleashed and vow to send him to hell.

The 1st POWER Hour was no walk in the park.
At the end of Episode 1, Ghost is single and in the dark.

Another gander at OUTLANDER

The trio:  [L-R] Claire, Jamie, Frank

Yes I’m still watching the series that STARZ has duly birthed.
I enjoy the recreation of yesterday in all of its humility and girth.

I do.

So I’m watching it again and each episode is challenged and tried,
though I must admit “they got me,” the episode when Frank died.

I didn’t see it coming.
When I saw he had a ‘side chic’ – I heard wedding bells humming.

Frank said he wanted to marry his side gal and Claire was stunned.
However the writers lost control of his car in script and Franks role was done.

Dun-dun-dun.
A life without Claire was never his to be won.

And so we move on in the storyline,
Claire and Jamie‘s daughter, Brianna is a gingered delight.

She’s all grown up and living her life.
Claire’s heart still yearns to visit Edinburg, thrice, (she’s already been twice).

Brianna concurred ‘the thought is nice,’ then encouraged her mother to follow her heart.
This was episode 305’s conveying point of start.

Claire didn’t need arm twisting to declare that she will indeed return!
Then Roger gifted her with a bind of Scottish history that we’ve learned.

She’ll be careful not to lose sight of it in any year near 1756,
For the book is from the future and she will most surely burn as a witch.

Brianna gave her a topaz gemstone pendant to memorialize Claire’s ado,
then Claire with her own hands sewed herself a cute period suit.

It was a dress to be exact. That ol’ Claire can really sew!
She pieced together a fine little number out of a 1960’s raincoat.

Not too many days afterward she hailed a cab in the NYC hussle
though upon exiting the cab she purposely stepped into a puddle.

Why a puddle – you ask? Maybe it rained hard an hour or two?
Well the point of the puddle is when Claire was a child she feared she fall through

Any puddle on the ground. So at all cost she would avoid.
That was before time travel. The puddle is now welcomed noise.

She entered into a taxi but exited horse and buggy.
The day was an overcast, dim, dank and muggy.

Claire is back in the 1700’s, where the love affair all began,
I’m Qui
glued to the tube, but this is where episode 305 came to an end.

outlander-claire-ep305.jpgFYI — Claire also took, in tow, meds and pennacilin.
If only time travel was MORE than science fiction.

Still Starz and Outlander are rendering us a creative win.
Looking for a distraction from real life? You should tune in.
