The title crossed my mind last night. A Hand and A Stand should not to be confused with “a handstand.” I was happy to tune in to the State of The Union address. It was interesting and reminded me of
A new teacher tries to make use of her psychology courses. The first day of class, she starts by saying, “Everyone who thinks they’re stupid, please stand up.”
After a few seconds Little Johnny stands up. The teacher asks, “Do you think that you’re stupid, Johnny?” “No ma’am,” he replied. “But I hate to see you standing there all by yourself.”
There was quite a bit of standing at the #SOTU.
Republican should have worn house shoes —
the way that they were up-and-down in their seats so often.
If this were routine exercise, less butts would be softened.
Congress is full of spineless and mushy butts.
So, I know last night’s glute work drove them nuts.
Butt — it was fun to watch.
Every two lines, they would stand on-the-clock.
The American People are watching, as well as our global neighbors and kin.
I’m not the only one who was entertained by the constant and pointless standin.’
The #SOTU was entertaining but nothing to leave you “in the know.”
Though it picked up significantly when it turned into a game show.
Remember all of the guests who were surprised that they had to act —
like the Pres was surprising them after the dated fact?
Not one guest looked surprised – still it was good to know
that folks are compliant and came out to the show.
Though the state of our union, we still do not know.
I think that part of the speech hit the cutting room flo.’
Then again, truth be told, I know exactly how we’re doin,’.
If Congress reflected the people, there’d have been a lot of boo’in
in the esteemed gallery last night.
Civility is necessary; it was proper to oblige.
Congress displayed a pride; not quite model civilians.
At least the Democrats didn’t act-out like Joe Wilson.
Regardless of party – we are all family and we need to respect
each other/one another and slack-not on the “check.”
If your brother is wrong, it’s okay to hold his hand
and remind him of what’s right. No applaud – no stand.
The children are watching. So what does it mean, man?
Be a role model for the kids; tomorrow they’ll run the land
and not appreciate you, boo. Congress: bless your souls.
Many of you will be seeking re-election at the polls.
Mm-hm. Your way of business is getting old. I think it’s time to dip, man!
I’m Qui
On my way to the gym, I’m working on my handstand.
