The Talib’s do excellent groundwork

I dig a couple of pretty awesome people whose names sound the same but are spelled differently: Talib Kweli and Rashida Tlaib. I recently became introduced to Rashida Tlaib via her recent news headlines. Rashida is running for Congress in Michigan. You may remember her from being kicked out of the GOP nominations campaign rally in 2016. Rashida said of that event,

“I told Trump that “our children deserve better” and I asked him to provide a better example to our kids. I implored him to read the U.S. Constitution. And then I was grabbed by several security personnel who physically moved me to the exit while I continued to express my concerns.”

She was right and that was two years ago. My, how time flies when you’re making sense of things in the world. It’s certainly no day at the beach but it is a party to and for common sense holders.

Which brings me to the other Talib: Talib Kweli has been holding common sense court on Twitter single-handedly for a little while now. He’s patient in his Twitter tone and delivers ‘aha moments’ wrapped in wisdom.

Any chance that you are following his timeline of inspiring quotes, comments and wisdom notes? Check him out, if only because a little bird told you and then approach doing so with an open mind & heart because Talib Kweli, much like Rashida Tlaib is about unity through understanding your community.

Who wants to live life misunderstood because they had a misunderstanding? It doesn’t make sense, but this jam does:

The Talib’s are important in any progressive story.
Each in search of unity and less narcissistic glory.

I like them both. They mean business and we need it.
Is diversification necessary? Learn it and heed it.

The world is changing rapidly, still with you in control; you have the power to vote and are still at the helm.
Take notice of who your neighbor is, whose shaping your politics and whose forming the care of your health.

It matters.
Don’t let your good head be scattered.

Get to know The Talib’s. They are your neighbors; they are you and me,
