This Stuff Right Here…

surprise

Yes, THIS.  😀

There’s so much to say, let’s wrap this up quick:
I suppose we could start on the VOTING Tip.

Make plans now to get out and vote on November 6.
Democrats are the choice if you’re concerned about care when you’re sick.

Our Republican friends
want the ACA to end.

Repealing the Affordable Care Act will take us back to the begin
when pre-existing conditions kept sick folks from getting in

on an insurance plan that they could possibly afford.
Mitch says if Dems don’t win —  healthcare repeal efforts will soar.

Hm. I just wanted to start out with that little bit. Please marinate on it and vote.
Don’t just turn out to the polls by yourself but bring your beloved kinfolk.

Voter suppression is real.
Be sure to turn out to let the governing body know how you feel.

This country is being divided-up on purpose. Let us recognize and heal.
It’s Friday, my usual get-live day, yet I want to talk about This Stuff Right Here.

I want to talk about you and me.
Where we are and where we want to be.
Tell me.

Please don’t fall victim to thinking that your vote won’t make a difference.
Ask Big 44. It matters so much, he made a few mentions:

.

YOU MATTER and regardless of your message I want to hear from you.
I will understand you loud and clear after the tallied totals come through.

Dear beloved Americans: regardless of our differences, I am counting on you.
We didn’t see eye-to-eye in 2016; let’s unite on the white between the red and the blue:
american-flag-waving.gif

The topic of  America’s position on human rights at this time — is dark and lousy.
The prez debates while he waits on reports from the Turkish – Consulate, Saudi.

A WaPo journalist’s life has been brutally lost.
But a big contract from Saudi could be an adequate cost?

I paraphrased but didn’t make up the intended sentiment.
The price of getting away with murder is enough money being spent.

It’s nothing new that true history has not previously fed —
It’s just quite remarkable that it’s what the sitting prez said.

Yes-Yes! This Stuff Right Here is a sum that I could not make up.
If I did you’d cry fiction and tell me to wake the crux up.

I’m awake. Are you?
Let your intentions be true.

I need you to come through, to be encouraged with no fear.
I’m Qui
Imploring you to read up on the VOTE, and go to the polls
to change-up This Stuff Right Here.

Camels HUMP

A new camel.

Doug Jones humped-up on a win last night.
A-L dispelled any hint of disconnect in sight.

It was a pretty tight race. I tuned in and out.
I woke up this morning to hear Alabamians shout:

WE HAVE COLLECTIVELY CHOSEN DOUG JONES!
I know many voted otherwise – I don’t think that you’re wrong.

Though I’m glad we’re turning a new corner in this reality song.
We’re looking at things differently – perhaps our unity is still strong.

We are all Americans and we are our best when we stick together.
It’s good to reveal we prefer to heal – still birds of the same feather.

survivor-torch extinguished.jpg

Alabama has a new Jones.

As the cold weather moves into atmosphere, o’ isn’t it clever
that we would find warmth in decency and voting together.

Congratulations Alabama for speaking up and showing face
and proving to the rest of the world that you, alone will call your fate.

Today is a beautiful day. We all woke up alive.
Viva la Hump Day. I’m happy to embrace the Jones vibe.

Virginia started something; it’s a reckoning and it’s loud.
I’m Qui
Happy about it – oui! To be  an American, I’m feeling proud.

ALL IN

Are you in?

Okay, I’ll be quick, because I have a lot to say,
I’ll start with Trumps tweet about Mika bleeding from the face.

What is up with him, women and blood? Dare I say a fascination?
I’ve no nasty counter words to render him into degradation.

I just don’t and would it really matter?
His base has supported him through countless nasty chatter.

It would truly be less than intelligent to argue with that man.
Unfortunately, it’s becoming easy to tune-out the leader of the land.

I’ll tell ya something else, since we’re chatting it up,
When it comes to 24-hour news: DO NOT TURN UP.

It’s not good for us; it never changes a thang’
To wallow in reality, this surreal strange.

So don’t!
Early on this year, I promised: I won’t.

I frequent outside, I hit the playgrounds,
I laugh at goofy jokes, to keep my humor sound.

I fancy indulging in an ice cream cone from Cold Stone.
And I do so with friends. What’s having all the fun alone?

Don’t do it!  Thus, I don’t.
Regardless the day of the week – I just won’t.

Time is short and is ours to spend
I vote we come together and work on our “mend.”

Work on reacquainting with our neighbors and friends and start some chatter,
About the world, what’s going on, where we stand and what matters.

Remember backyard Barbeques and house parties alike?
Remember when politics wasn’t squit and you had a life?

Friday is a good day to get back to it.
If someone says “let’s watch the news“… Just don’t do it.

Go outside and play, go hang out with family and friends,
If you love your job like I do, work overtime and make some ends.

I’m taking the weekend off, I have a funeral in Texas to attend,
I’m Qui
Happy Friday to thee, I was serious about working on our united “mend.”

Where is the love

we-are-in-this-togetherThe world is acting like “UNITY is key and we refuse to let it go,”
but collectively we aren’t blasting in-your-face coverage on #Aleppo.

The spot is violently hot and even tho
there’s been a cease fire, it ain’t over — yo.

THE NEWS… I don’t want it no mo’.
They pick and choose what they want to show

Headline RATINGS generating? — I don’t know.
But enough about me – what about #Aleppo?

Oooooo!

Anywho yo – I was up at a leisure hour today
because yesterday started early and I was committed to #Slay.

I did. I worked all day.
So much so, I had not a thing to say
on #HumpDay.

Though when a lone moment caught me, CupCakeChique was on the vent
and expressed to me the concerns of her heart and how her thoughts are spent:

My heart is with Aleppo right now. I was shaken to the core to think
that humanity, love, unity and hatred are lumped up into one septic sink.’

Surely I parapharsed her passionate rage; for it went on and on
That’s when Roberta Flack came to mind and the “WHERE IS THE LOVE” song.

CupCakeChique is new to world events, for she is not even 21.
Her eyes wide and full-teeth smile she thought adulthood would be more fun.

She yearned to learn about lifes mysteries under the ‘grown-folks’ sun.
Instead she’s seeing tyranny and holy respect for “the bully pulpit and the gun.”

THE NEWS — I don’t want none. No satellite news is in my home.
Because I talk to the ones I love – the ‘exact sentiments’ make it into my dome.

Good morning sweetheart, I’m home. I’m grounded and vibrating higher.
I don’t accept the lose or yield defeat my choose – I am ordered by a higher sire.

I PRAY.

No — Prayer is not magic, politics, a bill or a law
But it’s what I’ll use to talk to God, to push through the ‘hem and haw.’

You remember Hem and Haw? We talked of them a few days back.
I’m still Sniff and Scurry I move in a hurry – I ain’t studdin’ what you thought I’d lack. 🙂

Good morning dear family it is only 10:30 under the Arizona sun,
I’m Qui
Waking leisurely on this Thursday morning of opportunistic sums.

Mmmm, yum.
But can #Aleppo get some?

Data Matters TOO

blondieWhen I was little I did not know that I was “Black” until my big sister told me. The information was divulged when I was about 5 or 6 and I had a homework assignment to draw a picture of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was in my bedroom that evening doing my darnedest to draw BLONDIE. My sister, (who is only 3 years older than me) took it upon herself to inform me that I was Black and could never be “Blondie.” — Today I look back on that day and I laugh my head off. I can’t believe I didn’t know that I was Black. Now that I think about it my parents never told me that I was Black. 😀 They did tell me that everyone was my brother and sister and that we looked different but were all the same. The words white and black – never came out of their mouths. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school, again – it never came up. I honestly didn’t know and when my sister delivered the news she did it with a smirk. What a jab. I didn’t know whether to be mad that I was Black or that she knew first and I didn’t. I wasn’t sure what “Black” meant, but I could tell it was something “smirky.” Later I would find out about my history and the struggles and about the dual law system and societal differences and about the not so distant social rejections (Whites Only dining, water fountains, etc).

california-1975

I’m the cutie in the white fur coat. Of course, darling. 😀

My parents are the coolest memory of the ’70’s – that I have. They were easy going, had suave house parties with hanging beads and the likes. We traveled a lot as a family beyond my fathers USAF assignments, we laughed a lot, lived in awesome communities and had fun. I loved those days! My parents told us that we could grow up to be anything we wanted to be because we were equal– of course. It felt like THANKS to all of the marching in the 60’s and the many, many lives lost — that America had taken a turn to end racial division and that equality and unity were in progress. I believed them. They gave me hope. Then I graduated from high school, then college, had kids and remained hopeful, still. My peers of all races seemed to be on the same page of unity as myself (+/-) – – or so I thought.

My children have now graduated from high school and are in college and not much has changed in the Civil Rights column. What happened? Did my peers raise racist kids while telling me they were color blind and loved my children like their own? I’d like to say, NO they did not!  But then there’s DATA. Unchanged Data…

decorative-line-divider1

And with that, I don’t know what else to say.
The TURK has put it all on the plate today.

He rewound historical time to show you the views of yesterday.
He fast forwarded to today and the same kind of RACISM is in play.

What am I to think, what am I to do?
I can’t be Blondie, but can my life matter too?

I have a 3-year old g-daughter and she knows nothing about hate.
She’d take off in a sprint if I addressed her on topic: RACE.

But not before saying, “Get on your mark, get set, ready – GO!”
She’s a chip off the block of her athletic Uncle Joe.

She’s got great speed and agility traits,
but she has no idea she’s a target for hate because of her race.

She has no idea that it’s been this way for centuries.
AMERICA – stop saying RACISM doesn’t exist and prove that YOU SEE ME.

Prove that you care for civil rights and equal rights for all men,
by pressing play on the video and thinking things through again.

Take the challenge and find a WIN!

In Communication, Griot, Networking, News, Self Improvement, Video on June 11, 2016 at 8:04 pm

thank-youI’m a girl who loves and often hails fantastic television advertisement via commercials like Geico, or the Dad and Daughter commercial. It’s not often that you find good laughter or bold encouragement done for the good of the whole with deeper intentions to better your soul. The latter of the two driving forces inspired this piece. I was so encouraged after seeing this commercial today that my heart was warmed and I smiled broadly at the prospects of tomorrow.  It was about… well, never mind my paraphrasing it, let me show it to you:

A winning corporation is built by incorporating the best talent.
Though being accross-the-board in fairness has long beeen a move that remains too valient.

It is not so much of a noble move as it is genius; an awesome use of professional wisdom.
How can you win – steadying yesterdays spin when NEW talent is at an all time #Yum?

Dare you step outside of the box if you are in the position to make such a move?
Genius isn’t ‘Doing the same thing,’ genius would be succeeding with a new groove.

Who doesn’t want to find and employ a Steve Jobs?
The only hurdle is some of the brightest minds dress like slobs

and your companies HR department wouldn’t give them a second look.

Key BLACK HISTORY Subject: Black WOMEN

In News on February 16, 2016 at 6:23 am

Key-blk-women

Let’s talk about ‘em – you love to read them.
And if you’re a man in need of love – you seek to heed them.

I am a BLACK WOMAN and I love every stitch of my fabric.
I love Adam’s seed who confesses that he’s a femme addict.

I’m good with it.
I prefer to ‘ying-yang’ split it. 😀

.
.

I am a BLACK WOMAN and I do have a thirst
to yield uninhibited affections to a man of worth.

Good love; a comforting girth – we give what is needed.
And when Daddy is ‘good at chopping the wood’ a legacy branch is seeded.

We all need it, legacy contributions to carry our names on.
God made women with birthing hips and the capacity to push strong.

Push strong for life, love and unity. Push strong to strengthen our connect.
Push strong for her man, his successes; push strong for his lasting respect.

Unity is in the community and we love being BLACK.
You were born with melanin challenges, we understand and we’ve got your back.

In my world there’s nothing that you lack being black – if you focus on me.
I am queen to he that is about me, I shine for him, I shine for we.

I am the co-pilot that many need not see.
I’ve got your back. Sir, you’ve got me.

I don’t need to be a mans spouse to respect him on the floor.
I am always appreciative when he sees me coming and opens the door.

Makes me proud. Dare I pass and  just walk through
without a kind smile and an oblige of saying “THANK YOU?

Black Man: It’s an honor to be the counterpart of you. It’s an honor to shine you up.
BLACK WOMEN are HISTORICAL for yielding good, loyal and unbiased love.

Besides raising everybody’s, kids, cooking and cleaning
we’re awesome behind closed doors when only the moon is gleaming.

Josephine Baker let the whole world know

I know- I know … that darn banana skirt….
but if I put one on, I’m out to predator hurt.

Ooo-oo ah-ah! That’s the sound of monkeying around.
Satire stays on fire and #word-wise: I stay on ‘the clown.’

We like to drive too – I won’t lie.

CHANGING up the SIGN language…

In Communication, Griot, Networking, News, Self Improvement, Sports, TV Shows on February 26, 2015 at 8:15 am

Dale Hansen said, “IT WILL CHANGE,” just like HE DID:

blue_diamond divider

You know I’m from Texas — it’s always in my mouth
and I know first-hand the nastiness of racism in the south.

I still love the place, I call it home
and Dale is one of the reasons WHY I can’t leave it alone.Bad Sign language in TX

Racism is strong, but not just in the state of Texas.
Unfortunately, it’s a degree of commonality that connects us.

Unpleasant at its core – it is a thing that is taught.
We knew that all along, but why would such a view be sought?

Dale Hansen was sold it, but wisdom came along and taught him better.
Brave was he to voice the “see” – ol Dale is a WISE go-getter.

Majestic in character… I really don’t know what else to say.
I was moved and brought to tears when I watched this clip the other day.

USA All The Way

Yes. I love Texas. I love the United States.
I love our collective unity. I hate the division of race.

Ignorance is what it is and “it will be replaced one day,”
I certainly agree with the wisdom in Dale Hansen’s recent say.

Gosh darn’int, I think I’m gonna cry again,

Racism is a war we can win!  Let’s start with family and friends.

We Took It To The Streets in Tempe, AZ

In Communication, Griot, Networking, News, Politics, Self Improvement on December 5, 2014 at 9:44 am

Thanks to social media, unifying has not ever been so easy:

FFF Protest Invite

If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. could have seen us marching for positive change last night, I think he would have been proud, so would Michael Brown, Travon Martin and Tamir Rice, (just to name a few).

A Dream is still in progress… I was overcome with love as all races of people joined us in march. In fact, there were only 7 black people in our group, including myself. How beautiful is that? WAY TO GO ARIZONA! What a great look of UNITY. We looked goooood:

IMG_2529 IMG_2491 IMG_2532

(click on the picture to enlarge)

Asia, one of the African American peaceful protesters, asked me if we had a chant prepared. It was a good question, but since I wasn’t the original organizer of the protest, I did not, but one text to my proactive and well connected mentor and we were armed with 3 different chants:

*

*
I literally lead our peaceful protesters branch, block by block and chant by chant. It was so exciting. They were an amazing group and we made history last night. We were UNITED for a very serious cause and it felt great:

IMG_2530  Black Lives Matter in Tempe, AZ 20141204Protesters in Tempe,AZ - ASU 20141204  IMG_2501

We came up on one fella who became emotional and started to break down and cry as we passed. One of the protestors started dialogue with him and asked him if he wanted to hold her protest sign. He became our 7th African American in the peaceful protest:

IMG_2518 Qui hugs the moved-2-tears protester

No. We weren’t a LARGE group at ASU/Tempe Beach Park, but we were very effective and proactive self starters. People honked their horns in support, people through up their fist, people shouted out, “Great cause! and GOOOO COWBOYS!” as we walked past the fine dining establishments with patio dining. Folks it felt amazing.

heart divider

Unfortunately while in route to our peaceful protest
another black man was shot and now slumbers in rest.

Rumain Bribson was only 34-years old and he lived in the city of Phoenix,
which made me think – that’s where the other protestors went.

This weeks protest events were supposed to pop-off twice,
Thursday in Tempe, AZ and then to Phoenix on Friday night.

But after the young man was shot, the people took to the streets to holler,
the cop shot shot Rumain because in his pocket he has a pill bottle.

Rumain Brisbon

He won’t be able to care for his children anymore and they will never see him again. Rumain Brisbon was shot and killed last night. He wasn’t committing a crime, just bringing home dinner to children.

Rumain didn’t reach for it, the cop was frisking his pocket
felt the pill bottle, pulled his pistol and popped it.

Not once but twice.
Yes, the officer is white.

This just does not sound good.
This happened last night in the Phoenix hood.

We were marching in Tempe as others cried for the late Rumain.
It’s open season on black men? Why not question him or detain?

If you want to read the details, be forewarned they are shady and full of merk.
A 34-year old dad was bringing dinner home to kids, and now he belongs to the earth.
Today, his children are horrified and hurt.

If you still think black people are doing something that is causing them to get shot,
I assure you dear people, I am black and we are not.

There were only 6 African Americans marching with last night,
we all binded in unity for what is just and right.

We smiled and we chanted and pounded the pave,
I’m Qui
Peaceful, loving and always hugging, pleading with law enforcement to behave.

We all know karma. Right? She’s timely and cunning.

The Economy’s LAME – Whose to BLAME?

In Communication, Griot, News, Politics on December 9, 2010 at 12:14 pm

The way I see it is…The President IS NOT SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for our united understanding or our voting turn out/results. WE the people gather our own individual understandings (and/or relate to a party collective). WE the people vote based on our understandings (and/or party affiliation +/-). Based on the voting results casted by WE the people, a politician whose stand is reflective of what “the people” VOTED for – is then appointed into the position. The appointed official then takes the views of “the voting public” with him to represent them on Capitol Hill.

The President is like Congress’ Supervisor. Indeed he is “commander in chief”, “the president”, “the leader of the free world”, but he’s not a dictator. The voting voice weighs heavily with him. President Obama was voted in by: WE the people. He stands for the people and the good of the country. In fact, he ran on CHANGE (for the people in 2008), and vowed to get middle class America back on its feet. We celebrated the idea of someone “looking out for the common man”, rather than looking out for the rich, (like GW Bush did over the last decade).

The President must find it increasingly frustrating that WE the people VOTED him in to change things and then VOTED in a band of party opposers to hinder him from doing so.

How CONFUSED are WE the people?

That’s like getting into your new car and putting one foot on the gas and the other on the break then complaining that the car won’t go. WE voted the president in to work for us. WE voted for the party that will oppose him, (whats worst — some of us didn’t MID TERM VOTE @ all), and WE wonder WHY nothing is getting done.

SIMPLE, however, it makes no sense at all.

So The Economy is LAME — Whose to to BLAME?

WE the people
should be at the top of the steeple.

What kind of dung are WE on –
further weakening what’s left of the strong?

This reads like a bad TWILIGHT script:
Bella wants to be ‘vampire bitten’ AND ‘dog kissed’.
(what a CONFUSED little twit)

Do you want to move up & forward or continue to decline over time?
WE the people desperately need to be on one accord ..ie, the same vibe.

For UNITY we should strive – anything else is uncivilized.
Imagine how our home front looks in a foreign country’s eyes…

The Wiki Leaks debacle has been executed and is still breaking coveted ground.
The whole purpose of the classified leak is to bring America down.

WE the people are divided on how we collectively feel
today it is your choice – tomorrow we’ll pray Gods will.

You think times are bad now? Oh mole – be still.
Come up out of the dark & lets unite on ‘the hill‘.

The HUFFINGTON POST is good for disclosing
a lot of information WE should COLLECTIVELY be knowing.

A lot of folks aren’t interested in watching the media’s lows. Stand strong. Your position is hot.
So I hit the wires, with griot fire – to educate the News-Follower-NOT.
Magazine relations are the best tool I’ve got. 🙂

Entertaining, Informative and a whole lot bolder,
I’m Qui
and WE the people have put this LAME on our own shoulders.

Let’s shake it off.
Education & Unity is a better than fair cost.
