Empty headlines and fruitless grapevines serve the people none.
I used the weekend to ‘life sweeten;’ I insist on having more fun.

in what it is that you intend to give weigh to –

Will we have another gumbo of headline news today?

Will more comparisons to Nixon creep up that will make the prez sick?
With hands the size of a normal man, the prez still resembles Tricky Dick.

Good Morning Monday, I love the essence of your day.
I am grateful for all who survived the shooting in Santa Fe.

Another high school shooting has come to pass; this time in Texas.
There are no interests in making sensible gun laws that connect us.

Monday Morning, you remain in the column of good.
Let those of us who pray, do so in the American hood

for clarity and protection.
Compassion for others may be the connection.

Though, if we don’t change gun laws more adolescent lives are doomed to be lost.
Perhaps gun violence keeps rising because many haven’t personally felt the cost.

If this is true,
don’t let the next bullet hit you.

Whoever it is among us, blindly championing for guns,
let him heal himself when all that he has is full of holes and undone.

It has nothing to do with sin, they’re likely just an NRA friend – they’ll be fine.
But you and I have got to get our kids out of harms way and off of the front lines.

realizing that we can’t continue this way.
